A Message from the Principal, Martin Neuhaus
January 20, 2017
Welcome!
We love our new welcome signs, thank you to our amazing PTA for making this
happen for us! Please let us know what you think the next time you stop in to visit or
volunteer. You will see our "bear paw" welcome at both our main and car rider
entrances, and our big welcome sign as you enter our front doors.
1st - 5th Grade Agendas
Starting on Monday, January 23rd, we are requiring all students to start utilizing their agendas each day. While many classrooms
already use this incredible tool (thank you PTA!) we want to make sure that ALL our 1st - 5th grade students are writing in it each
afternoon. We're asking students to write neatly every day their homework and one thing they've learned (reflection is important
and we hope this provides you with an opportunity to ask him/her to tell you more!). Please help us by checking your child's
agenda each night and helping make sure it comes back to school each morning.
Learning Walks 1/31, 2/7
Ever wonder what school is really like for our students? Want to know more about how we're incorporating personalized learning
into our classrooms? If so, we invite you to come join us on our journey for one of our Learning Walks. During these visits you will
tour several of our classrooms with other parents and community members, visiting multiple grades to see our students and
teachers in action. Learning Walks are limited to 10 visitors each morning so we can observe classrooms without disrupting
instruction. All Learning Walks are followed by a reflection activity, allowing all visitors an opportunity to provide feedback and
ask questions.
To sign up for our next Learning Walks (8:00 - 9:45 AM) click on the following links:

Is My Child Too Sick For School?
Children should stay home from school if there is: fever 100.4 or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, very frequent cough, persistent pain
(ear, stomach, head, etc.), widespread rash, crawling lice and or nits that have not been treated. The best way to stay healthy is to
remind your children to wash their hands frequently, cough into their elbow, throw away tissues after using them and don’t share
hats, hair bows, scarves, combs or brushes.
