I wanted to buy an I-Pad I found on sale for $599, but I realized I needed some things to go with it. I had to
buy a case for $29, a screen cover for $19, and a set of head phones for $49. I have $1,000 saved in my bank
account. I want to have money left to pay for apps I would like, but I also want to keep some money in my
account. Do I have enough? Will I have any money left? If I do have money left, how much?
I have five siblings (brothers and sisters). Including myself, there are a total of six kids in my house. Each of
us brings our lunch to school every day. My grandmother makes us these great little mini sandwiches. If she
makes us 23 mini sandwiches, how many of us could have 4 mini sandwiches in our lunch? How many of us
would have to have less than 4 mini sandwiches? If we could fit 8 sandwiches in our lunch boxes, how many

Jasmine rides horses at a barn near her house. She is getting ready for a horse show this weekend. She is
helping to set up a jumper ring, preparing jumps for the horses and riders to jump over. She needs to set
each of the jumps three feet high, but she is running into a problem. Every time she adds a pole to the jump
and sets it at six inches above the last, it sinks into the sand one inch. The first pole is six inches off the
ground, but after it sinks one inch, it is only 5 inches. If this continues to happen, what should Jasmine do? Is
she going to be able to make a jump that is 3 feet tall? How many poles will it take? What do you think
would be the best solution for her?
