Art Walk Gallery Information June 3 2016 Art Pannonia Featured artist is Virginia Impressionist, Terry Lyon. Meet the Artist Reception from 5:00- - 7:00 pm. Lyon is a 1968 graduate of the Virginia Tech School of Architecture. He worked as an engineer for years and studied art at the Roanoke Fine Art Center and Virginia Western Community College. He maintained a studio in the Roanoke historic city market district since 1986. He is one of the best-known and most beloved artists in the Roanoke Valley. Terry Lyon is a permanent artist of this gallery and he brings a fresh collection biannually to Art Pannonia for his solo show. His impressionistic brushstrokes create sophisticated women, beautiful dancers and nudes, fresh still-lives and breathtaking landscapes. The artist was accepted in several local and national exhibitions and won numerous awards. Blacksburg Public Library Counted Cross Stitch Workshop with Denise Lane Friday, June 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Blacksburg Library, exhibit open until 7:00 pm. Exhibit on display at the Blacksburg Library during regular hours throughout June. Onlookers are attracted to the great depth and detail of each picture and the intricate work involved in making one of Denise Lane’s counted cross stitch pictures. Her tiny, colorful stitches come together to form a picture that stimulates the imagination of everyone who views it. With over 30 years perfecting her skill, Denise has won awards including the Champion, Grand Champion, and Director's Awards for her counted cross stitch pictures. EMOTIVE Marino Colmano's 50 Years in Pictures Born in Bologna, Italy, Marino Colmano moved to Blacksburg with his family during his teen years. After attending the San Francisco Art Institute on a full scholarship, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1972 and launched into a successful career in photography and film. Marino is the recipient of 30 International Film Festival Awards, during his professional filmmaking career in Hollywood. He has exhibited his photographs internationally, and has numerous publications, including The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone Magazine. This exhibit focuses on his nostalgic photojournalism meeting provocative emotional content. Marino resides in Blacksburg, VA. XYZ Gallery Featured Exhibit: Pastiche This is a group show featuring multiple members of the community and curated by Victoria Javier.
