Why do we turn to drinking, and gambling, and smoking, and carrying on the way we do to find pleasure, is it because there is no pleasure in the house of God? Is it that because there's no joy in serving the Lord, that we have to hush that precious desire in our heart with things of the world?​

I wonder what will happen when God requires us at the day of judgment and asks us, "​
Why did we go to such things as that for pleasure?" when the Christian's pleasure is in the Lord. He has got joy unspeakable and full of glory for His believers​

Why does the world long after things like that, to try to satisfy their longings with the things of the world, when the joys of the Lord is for the people of God, old fashion prayer meetings, the Spirit upon the church. I was a sinner, and I did everything that I was big enough to do in the world. Lots of things I tried, I wasn't big enough to do. But I want to say this: that all of it put together never give the satisfaction like one moment in the Presence of the Lord God. It's all bogus and fantastics. It only speaks those momentarily pleasures of sin, only speaks that there is a real consoling and comfort, and pleasure... lasting pleasure in the Lord​
. And why would the church of the living God have to resort to such things as that to find pleasure? ​
Our pleasure is serving the Lord​
