Summer Music Program The goal of the summer music program is to strengthen each student as an individual performer as well as an ensemble member. The students will learn individual techniques and ensemble performance skills. These two aspects of musicianship will not only make the individual a better player, but will make him more valuable to his or her band next year. The programs are for students in grades 7-12. Summer offerings include Summer Band, Summer Strings, and a Jazz Workshop. For information on dates, times and costs, please see the website, www.dematha.org. or contact [email protected]. They served various area charities including Central Union Mission, DC Central Kitchen, SOME, and Martha's Table while learning about the challenges of urban poverty.
