No money is needed with your entry, but you must have a signed open check or cash to pick up your number. Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but the Horse Show Management will, in no case, be responsible for loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, CHJA, its Directors and employees, the Town of Estes Park and Stanley Field harmless for any loss or accident to his horse, horses, or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or other cause(s). 3. All owners and exhibitors will be held responsible for any damage incurred by them, their agents or employees, buildings or others properties on the show grounds, and shall be billed accordingly. 4. All bills for veterinary, farrier and feed services are due and payable during the show. SHAVINGS MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE SHOW—NO SHAVINGS MAY BE BROUGHT IN. 5. There will be a $50.00 fee charged for all returned checks. Accounts will be given 5 days to be paid in full by cash or cash equivalent. 6. Stalls will be available to Copper Penny exhibitors on Thursday, July 18, 2013 and are to be vacated Sunday, July 21, 2013. ANYONE OCCUPYING STALLS PRIOR TO THURSDAY WILL BE CHARGED $50/DAY/STALL unless they are entered in the Half Penny Horse Show. Please indicate on your entry blank if you plan to stay over for the Estes Park Hunter Jumper Festivals. 7. Group stabling is available using the “Block Stabling Form” PLEASE USE ONE COMMON NAME WHEN RESERVING GROUP STALLS AND TURN IN ONE FORM PER GROUP. The West Barn stalls are not available unless an existing reservation has been made through the Estes Park Hunter/Jumper Festival Shows. 8. Trainer splits must be done by the trainer personally in the Horse Show Office. Splits must be done By 3:00 pm Saturday, July 20 or before any of the trainers customers have closed out. 9. Safety and Schooling: Schooling will be scheduled by the Horse Show Manager. Schooling at other times is prohibited. The USEF protective headgear rules will be enforced. In addition, proper footwear with distinctive heels must be worn at all times by exhibitors and riders in the schooling area or on the show grounds. 10. Pets Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Animal Control officials will be called if necessary. 11. Non-Showing Horses must be entered in the Show Office and must pay the office fee, stabling or grounds fee, and EMT fee if the horse is ridden on the show grounds. 12. Miscellaneous: Back-to-back rounds will be allowed and are encouraged. Management may impose a one-minute gate and/or a posted order to maintain a reasonable pace for the show ring. Each class will award a first place prize and ribbons through sixth place. Champion and Reserve Champion will be offered for all divisions. Show management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide any class or classes should it be deemed in the best interest of the show. Show management reserves the right to substitute officials should it be necessary. All classes offered will be conducted in accordance with the 2013 CHJA Bylaws, Rules & Specifications, except as superseded by rule changes published in the CHJA Newsletter or on the CHJA Web Site. United States Equestrian Federation Rules will govern in all instances, except where CHJA specifications adjust for local situations. Each obstacle carries from 10 to 120 points according to its difficulty. Obstacles will be built so they can be jumped in both directions. The competitor will be credited with the number of points of each obstacle that he has jumped correctly. No points will be awarded for an obstacle that has been knocked down. Each competitor will have 60 seconds. During this time, he may jump all the obstacles he wishes in any order and in any direction. He may cross the starting line in either direction. Ringing the bell indicates the end of the round. The competitor must then cross the finish line to have his time recorded. Any obstacle knocked down will not be rebuilt, if it is jumped again, no points will be awarded. In case of a disobedience without a knockdown, the competitor may jump that obstacle or continue to the next obstacle.The competitor who has obtained the highest number of points will be declared the winner. In the event of equality of points, the fastest time between start and finish line will decide. THE JOKER JUMP At the conclusion of the round, a tone will be sounded. The competitor then has 20 seconds to jump the Joker Jump. This jump will be worth 200 points, but 200 points will be deducted if the jump is knocked down. ONLY ONE ATTEMPT IS ALLOWED. Entry Fee $75.00 To show in this class a horse must enter and complete at least two of the offered jumper classes at the 2013 Copper Penny Horse Show. Additionally, horses must have completed at least one other jumper or over fences hunter class in a 2011 Class II CHJA show. Each competitor will jump one round of approximately 12-14 fences from 3’6” to 3’9” in height with spreads from 3’ to 4’. Water obstacles may be included in the course. The first round and first round jump-off, if any, are decided by adding together the faults received over the course and any penalties for exceeding the time allowed to complete the course. In the event of equality of faults after the first round, for first place only, there will be one jump-off in which time will decide and jump-off faults will decide. All other ties will be determined by time in the first round. In ties for other than first place, the prize money will be added together and divided equally; riders will draw for ribbons. Riders are required to wear black, dark blue, dark green or scarlet coats; white shirts with tie, stocks or choker; white, buff or canary breeches, and hunt cap The order of go will be drawn at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. To be eligible, a horse must have entered and completed at least two CHJA Hunter classes at the 2013 Copper Penny Horse Show. Horses will jump 2 rounds at 2’9”. One round must be with a Professional, and the other round must be with a Junior or Amateur. The first round will consist of eight or more fences in a traditional hunter format. The second round will be a shortened Handy course. Either rider may do either course, but the switch of riders will take place WITHOUT LEAVING THE ARENA. An open numerical scoring system will be used, and the two scores will be averaged. DURING THIS PROCESS, THERE WILL BE NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PROFESSIONAL AND STUDENT Prize money to be divided as follows: 30%, 22%, 18%, 14%, 10%, 6% Ribbons through sixth place. SERIES AWARDS!! A high point series award will be offered for those competitors who attend the Half Penny I, Copper Penny, and Half Penny II horse shows in Estes Park.
