which is typically a 90 day or less
cache.

KML Capability
•
•
•
•
•
Users can now create KML products from the GXP Xplorer
instance known as ESS.
• Capability is deployed on JWICS, SIPR and NIPR
• No additional licenses or configuration is required to use the
capability.
KML Products that are produced will have streaming pixels either
via WMS or WMTS.
Two Types of KML products
• KML Super Overlay – Uses WMTS, Preferred output as it’s
faster and is less work on the GXP Xplorer backend.
• KML – Uses WMS
Users can create KML products using the order operations
tool bar or the “I want to” drop down (which produces a KML
based on last search results)
Users can create “Network Link” KMLs which will dynamically
update as new products are cataloged that meet the search
criteria.
