2014 Jack Petchey Winners
Jade Braybrooke and Grace Gilroy
Almost 2,000 schools, colleges and youth organisations throughout London
and Essex run the scheme. The scheme contributes millions of pounds each
year and is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and
youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as
well as receive additional funding.
Each year Killerwhales members have the opportunity to nominate a
swimmer or swimmers between the ages of 11 and 25 who have achieved
success across a number of criteria. The criteria ranges from dedication to
training, being a team player, personal success in competitions or their ability to overcome challenges throughout the year. The winners receive £200
to be spent on the club or an activity as well as a certificate and Pin.
Jade - Jade achieved her first Essex time and then went on to make her first
regional time as well. Jade trains hard and always has a smile on her face.
Grace - Grace performed well at Nationals making the finals, had a good
season and is a good role model for younger swimmers.
