ATHLETIC NEWS BULLETIN FOR THE
TOMORROW RIVER SCHOOL BOARD
.HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL
*The boys team is currently tied for first in the CWC with 2 conference games remaining.
*The seeding meeting for our regional will be February 10 here at Amherst where hopefully we earn a one or
two seed. The first round of regionals is February 19.
HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL
*The girls team is currently in first place in the CWC with 3 conference games remaining.
*The current state coaches poll ranked the team 6th in Division 4.
*Jamie Pitt is leading the conference in scoring, assists, free throw percentage and 3-pointers made.
*The seeding meeting for our regional will be February 17 here at Amherst where hopefully we can get the
number one seed. The first round of regionals is February 26.
WRESTLING
*The team took 6th place at the conference meet on February 2. Eddie Johnson took 3rd at 113 lbs., Nate Werner
took 4th at 138 lbs., Josh Powers took 5th at 145 lbs., Wyatt Brooks took 5th at 152 lbs., Logan Hermsen was the
conference champion at 160 lbs., Josh Desotell took 5th at 170 lbs., Jamie Docka took 5th at 195 lbs., and Nick
Emery took 4th at 285 lbs.
*The team finished 4th in the conference and will compete at regionals on February 9.
MISC.
*Doug Spadoni was selected as the District 6 assistant coach of the year.
*The boys hockey team, co-op with Pacelli, will take on Tomahawk in the first round of regionals on February
12 at Ice Hawks Arena at 7:00pm Amherst has five students participating in the co-op.
*The WIAA has announced a change in the “mercy rule” for football. Starting next fall, when a team falls
35 or more points behind in the second half, the running clock will be used, however, now during the 4th
quarter the clock will continue to run even if the differential falls below 35.
*The WIAA also increased state football ticket prices five dollars.
