Network setup using MS Network Client 3.0 for DOS

Network setup using MS Network Client 3.0 for DOS.
You should have the MS Client install disks 1 and 2, available on the installation CD for
Windows NT/2000 server, and the DOS driver disk supplied with your Network Interface
Card (NIC).
Before you start installation, please edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file on the Optoform, and
insert REM before the line that calls OPTOS.BAT or O.BAT, and save the file. At the
end of the installation, this line may be moved to the bottom of the file such that the
Optoform menus start after the network loads.
Insert the MS Client Installation disk 1, and type SETUP from the DOS a:\ prompt. The
following shows the sequence of screens and the action to be taken for each.
Press enter.

Once complete a drive must be mapped to the shared computer/server folder.
For this you will need to know the name of the computer, and the name of the shared
folder.
If you want to make the local drive G: look at the shared folder “WORK” on the
computer called “STERLING” then type the following
NET USE G: \\STERLING\WORK
And press enter. If you assigned a password in the above procedure (even though it
may have been blank), this mapped drive will be persistent, meaning it will automatically
attempt to re-connect when the computer is re-booted.
