Area Description
Cleburne is a city and county seat of Johnson County in Texas. The city is named
in honor of Patrick Cleburne, a Confederate General. Lake Pat Cleburne, the
reservoir that provides water to the city and surrounding area, is also named
after him. Cleburne is on the fringe of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Growth
in the area can be primarily attributed to suburbanization. It is the second most
populous city in Johnson County. As of the census of 2010, there were 29,377
people, 11,418 households, and 10,495 families residing in the city. The population
density was 935.9 people per square mile. There were 9,910 housing units at an
average density of 356.7 per square mile.
