Recognize common affixes and roots as an aid to increase vocabulary. 4. Use context clues to find or infer word meanings in sentences and paragraphs. EN010 outline -25. An exit exam, the format to be determined by a committee of developmental reading faculty and reviewed on a regular basis, used as a summative assessment tool as well as an assessment of the individual student. This exam may be used in conjunction with a pretest to yield value-added data. The exam should be heavily weighted, but is not necessarily the only factor in a successful student outcome for the course. L.
