Use context clues to find or infer word

measured by student’s level of competency on:
1. Comprehension activities based on
tenth grade expository prose.
2. Quizzes and tests.
3. Short writing assignments reflecting a
student’s ability to summarize and interpret
basic texts.
4. An exit exam, the format to be determined
by a committee of developmental reading
faculty and reviewed on a regular basis, used
as a summative assessment tool as well as an
assessment of the individual student. This
exam may be used in conjunction with a pretest to yield value-added data. The exam
should be heavily weighted, but is not
necessarily the only factor in a successful
student outcome for the course.
