In Russian, there is a strong tradition of learning foreign languages. This has led to the
development of specialized foreign language schools. In many ways, these schools are similar to
other Russian public schools. They are comparable in one very important way: the students do not
have to pay for their education. The schools also teach similar subjects. However, their differences
are quite noticeable. One major difference is that most of the school subjects are taught in a foreign
language (French, German, or English). Second, the students are different. Unlike the students in
regular Russian-language schools, students are selected to attend these schools. Quite often they
come from families with higher level of education. The greatest difference lies in the language
abilities of the students. In contrast to other Russian children, they learn to express themselves
fluently in a foreign language.

You can get pretty tense when you perform repetitive tasks at work day after day, which
increases stress levels and can make you downright tired. According to a new Harvard University
study, you can improve your work performance by taking a short afternoon nap.
It was discovered that a nap is good for your eyesight and can improve the quality of other
endeavors. If musicians spend their entire day rehearsing, for instance, their fingers are likely to
become numb, but if they take a brief rest in the afternoon, their performance will be better than if
they practice non-stop.
There are wide-ranging benefits to afternoon naps. Previous research has proved that sleep is
key to certain types of memory retention.
If your performance gradually deteriorates from day to day, it could be because the kind of
work you're doing is repetitive, and certain parts of your brain are being over-stimulated. Therefore,
in addition to taking an afternoon nap you could also regain your vitality and increase your efficiency
by working on different kinds of tasks, which will stimulate different parts of your brain.
Encouraging staff members to take naps is good for employees and employers alike. Winston
Chwchill and Napoleon Bonaparte are two examples of great men who liked to take naps. If you
boss likes to keep up with the news, you should make sure he or she reads about these research
results.

Why do pedple take part in such a risky activity as bungee jumping? They jump from a high
place (perhaps a bridge or a hot-air balloon) 200 meters above the ground with an elwtic rope tied to
their ankles. According to psychologists, it is because life in modern societies has become safe and
boring. Not very long ago, people's lives were constantly under threat. They had to go out and hunt
for food, diseases could not easily be cured, and life was continuous battle for survival. Nowadays,
according to many people, life offers little excitement. They live and work in comparatively safe
