Woodrow Wilson High School ‐ 022 2013‐14 School Action Plan Woodrow FP NO. 1 KEY ACTION (Briefly state the specific goal of objective. Establish a college bound culture. INDICATORS OF SUCCESS (Measurable results that describe success.) NO. 1 SAT and ACT scores will increase over 2012‐13 average scores. 2 95% of our junior students will take the SAT a minimum of one time during the year. Ten percent more students will take the ACT than did in 2012‐13. 3 85% of senior students will complete the Apply Texas application and/or the Common Application by April 2014. 4 50% percent of senior students will complete the FAFSA by May 2014. 5 30% of students who take an AP exam will score a 3 or higher. 6 60% of students who take an IB exam will score a 3 or higher, and 15% of the class will earn an IB diploma. 7 35% of junior/senior students will be enrolled in a minimum of 1 AP/IB course. 8 The Senior class will be offered $6.5 million dollars in scholarship money. 9 The 2013‐2014 graduation rate will be 90%. Principal and Assistant Principals will provide instructional support and feedback to our A1 newly created College Readiness course and ensure the teacher has all the resources that 4 they need to ensure the students' success. Principal will create a system to monitor the Princeton Review who will be facilitating B1 student Apply Texas, Common Application and FAFSA applications through group assemblies, classroom visits, one‐on‐one meetings and parent information nights. Assistant Principals will now include AP and IB classes in our system of data driven C1 instruction and will lead data analysis meetings to identify gaps/strengths in learning to guide future instruction and individualized intervention plans. Assistant Principal will create a system of monitoring graduation rate by Aug 16, and will D1 report progress to leadership team monthly beginning September 2013. We will observe "College Day", including college shirts and planned activities raising E1 awareness of different college offerings , once per semester. All student groups will improve their academic achievement by 10% over the 2012‐13 (level II) results in Algebra I, English I, English II and Biology as measured on the EOC assessment. Leadership team (principal, assistant principles and instructional coaches) will create an A1 instructional calendar including all data driven instruction key levers by August 16 to 2 share with teachers before school begins (Aug 19‐20) All departments will align instruction to guaranteed curriculum by utilizing purposeful end B1 2 in mind planning practices. Administrators and Instructional Coaches monitor the alignment of common assessments C1 2 and provide written feedback prior to each instructional cycle. Administrators/instructional coaches facilitate common assessment data disaggregation D1 within one week post CA administration to drive future instruction (i.e. do now’s, reteach, 2 scaffolding tutoring and individual intervention plans) Administrators will review teacher lesson plans weekly on Monday's to monitor rigor, E1 alignment to CA's and implementation of actions plans and provide written and verbal 2 feedback Administrators/Instructional coaches will facilitate PD on data driven instruction before F1 2 school begins (Aug 19‐20) and as needed, by department, through the year in PLC.
