Ribbon Blocks
Note: Use a ¼" seam allowance for all stitching.
1. Measure and mark 3½" from the lower left corner
of a stripe rectangle. Repeat 3½" from the top
right corner. Cut from the marks to the top left
corner and the bottom right corner to complete 1
angled piece. Repeat to make 48 angled pieces.
Note: Stack several rectangles right side up and
mark only the top rectangle to cut more than 1
angled piece at a time.
4. Stitch the A and B small triangles to the angled
ends of the stripe angled piece to complete the
3½" x 6½" center unit. Press seams toward the A
and B triangles.
5. Sew the center unit between the top and bottom
units to complete (1) 6½" x 9½" AB Ribbon block.
Press seams away from the center unit.
6. Repeat steps 2–5 to make a total of 6 AB Ribbon
blocks.
7. Repeat steps 2–5 to make 42 more Ribbon blocks
referring to the diagrams for fabrics in each block
and following the arrows for pressing direction in
the top/bottom units and between the units.
