COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS
We will now be sending all application
materials electronically via Naviance
 If you need assistance with Naviance,
counselors will be available during
conferences October 7th and 8th in the
computer labs

COLLEGE APP PROCESS… CONTINUED
Students will be responsible for logging into
Naviance and creating a list of colleges that
they are interested in applying to
 Be sure to make a transcript request online via
Naviance
 Do not wait until the last possible day to send
out your application, if possible, have
everything ready 2 weeks in advance!!!

HOW DO I LOG ON TO NAVIANCE?
Go To:

https://connection.naviance.com/thomjeff
Or go to www.tjjournal.com then click on “Naviance”
under Spartan Links (blue links on the lower right)
To Login:
 It will ask for an email address, instead put your DPS
ID in as the email address and the password is your
six-digit date of birth (mm-dd-yy)
 If you get locked out, please see Mr. Hanks and he
can reset your password.
FIRST STEPS IN NAVIANCE
Click on “manage my account” in the top right
corner
 Click “manage my profile”
 Click on the pencil icon next to “Email” to enter
or update your email

 This
is required for all students!
 You will receive important information about:
scholarships, upcoming college visits, financial
aid, etc.
FIRST STEPS IN NAVIANCE… ADDING COLLEGES
Click on the “colleges” tab
 Under “my colleges” click on “colleges I’m
applying to”
 Click “add college to this list”

 Check
“Trascript Request” box
 Look up the college and add
 Check “I have submitted my application” box

Click “add colleges” link at the bottom
FIRST STEPS IN NAVIANCE… REQUESTING
TEACHER LETTERS
Click on the “colleges” tab
 Under “my colleges” click on “colleges I’m
applying to”
 Scroll down to “Teacher Recommendations”

Click “add/cancel requests”
 Use the drop down boxes to choose a teacher
 You can leave them a message


Note: All teachers should have been asked in person
before hand
