BBVA Compass names Claire McCarron as South
Alabama CEO
o McCarron will work to increase bank’s brand awareness in the growing market
o Veteran banker brings nearly 30 years of experience
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – BBVA Compass announced today that veteran banker Claire McCarron
has been named as its CEO for the South Alabama region, where she will represent the bank’s
interest in the growing market and lead its efforts to increase brand awareness.
McCarron will oversee Consumer & Commercial banking activities and support the bank’s growth
in a region marked by an increasing manufacturing presence and strong aerospace, steel and
shipbuilding industries. McCarron most recently served as Commercial Banking Market Executive
in Mobile for BBVA Compass.
“Claire is a talented banking executive, and has had a long history of service in South Alabama,”
said BBVA Compass East Region Executive Lee Smith. “She has had experience in both the
Commercial and Wealth sides of the house, and we believe that she will lead her team to even
greater success in the region.”
McCarron has nearly 30 years of banking experience, including time as a private wealth
management lending advisor and commercial lender. She has a master’s degree in business
administration from the University of Alabama and is a certified treasury professional.
