PRESS RELEASE 21/11/2016 The new startup Irisiome Solutions has successfully delivered its two first tunable fiber lasers This falls, the startup Irisiome Solutions, based near Bordeaux, has delivered its two first laser systems to two research laboratories after only few months of activity The company Irisiome Solutions, spin off of the University of Bordeaux, was founded in 2015 by young researcher Romain Royon. During his PhD studies, he had the opportunity to develop an innovative laser architecture. Thanks to his research, Irisiome Solutions is able to produce tunable picosecond fiber lasers at high repetition rate. « In most of the case, scientific laser users consider that high performances and great versatility is a great benefit for their research and this is what we can offer with our innovative fiber architecture » said Romain. Only few months after its creation, the company has already successfully delivered two lasers for advanced photonics and bio imaging applications. One was delivered last September to XLIM in Limoges, France and the second to the Institut Fresnel in Marseille, France. These might be the opportunities to get the first results that will prove the benefits of this new laser architecture in the scientific field. High power laser from MANNY series The first system was delivered in September to the XLIM research laboratory in Limoges for advanced photonics applications. It is one of the product from MANNY high power tunable laser series with high power up to 35 W at any wavelength from 1020 nm to 1080 nm. Irisiome Solutions team put a lot of effort to make the system turnkey and very user friendly. Indeed, both the wavelength and the average power are settable in few seconds through a touch screen located on the top of the laser. « It is really interesting to have a versatile laser, especially in the scientific field » admitted Pr. Fetah Benabid. Compact fiber laser from SID series The SID series aim at offering a picosecond solution for Bio imaging applications. One system was installed last October at the Institut Fresnel, in Marseille. The specificity of this system is that the pulses can be set at any repetition rate from 80 MHz to 1,2 GHz. “ The possibility to change the repetition rate is a great and unique benefit” said Pr.Hervé Rigneault from the Mosaic Biophotonics group (www.fresnel.fr/mosaic). The SID laser will be introduced for the first time at Bios, 28-29 January 2017, Booth 8937 and Photonics West, 31 January – 2 February 2017, Booth 1723.
