The double names in Spain reflect the names of the parents. In a
marriage the woman retains the first name and adopted the first
(paternal) part of the husband as her second name. In the daily
parlance usually only the first part is used. To avoid confusion, but also
both parts of the names are mentioned.

The female article „la“ (plural: „las“) and the masculine article „el“
(plural „los“).
Accusative
Initiated in persons by the preposition "a".

Catalan
Until a few exceptions, everything is so pronounced as it is written.
The Catalan has an orthographic specificity, the „punt volat“ (Point in
the middle of a word). It shows, that the pornounciation should not be
changed, e.g. in „Paral•lel“ (see Page 7).
