i-D Magazine launched into the UK market in 1980 as the original style title. With an impressive black
book of contributors and maintaining its core values for more than 30 years i-D continues to have
significant presence and respect in the worlds of fashion, art and culture.
Role
You will assist the editorial team across all aspects of print and digital, helping build i-D.co’s
reputation as the go to destination for fashion, music, art and film. You will also manage the cultural
calendar and ensure the editorial team is abreast of upcoming events, festivals, releases, launches
etc.
Main Responsibilities

















Source and write 3-5 stories a day for the site to resonate with i-D’s readers.
Write short form and long form features across every section of i-D.co.
Conduct interviews for the site and the magazine.
Cover news stories in the News Editor’s absence.
Work with the Content Manager in the scheduling and uploading of all online content and
managing CMS/SEO.
Ensure the homepage has been updated by 9:30am.
To ensure the digital content plan is up to date each day.
Edit, rewrite and sub copy for the site if needed, prior to sign off by the Digital Editor.
Utilise traffic reports to conceptualise content ideas for the upcoming week.
Write headlines and stand firsts for the magazine and site.
Approve all text, fashion credits and production credits on the magazine before sign off by
the Deputy Editor, followed by the Editor-in-Chief.
Provide an unrivalled insight into what is happening in contemporary culture and for this to
be reflected in ideas for the site and the magazine.
Identify up and coming talent in music, film, art and culture and negotiate their entry onto iD.co.
Establish strong and fruitful relationships with PRs.
Be a fastidious fact checker and guarantee no story goes up without being 100% factually
correct and 100% original content.
Ensure all content is written in i-D house style, with wit and personality.
Monitor competitor sites and keep up to speed with digital and industry developments.


Promote i-D as a digital-first, innovative fashion brand within the fashion industry.
Provide ideas and inspiration for other departments (for example co-branded / advertising
projects) when needed.
Key deliverables:



Write 3-5 x interviews, opinion pieces or news story a day for the site.
Compile the contents page, contributors’ page and masthead for the magazine.
Share the cultural calendar with the team on a week-by-week basis.

To undertake such other tasks including general administrative duties as may be required
from time to time
