The New Year has brought great things for our Drama Club. At the moment we are sitting at 35 students in our club, an overwhelming success! Before Christmas, we learned about the importance of dramatic warm-ups, about being comfortable with being uncomfortable, and developed a variety of improvisation skills, such as tableaux, movement and stillness, using a stage voice, etc. Now we are in the process of putting all of those pieces together as a production. As I am sure you know by now, we will be performing the play A Grimm Night for Hans Christian Andersen by Sue Gordon. The students received their scripts on January 22, 2015. We are aiming the performance date for Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 7:00pm in the KES GYMNASIUM. We will be hosting a dessert style theatre and charging a small fee for attendance in order to cover the costs of the play (script, props, make-up, etc.). In order to be successful, Drama will still be held after school on Thursdays right up until the date of the performance. The time, however will be changed starting January 29, 2014 to 3:30 5:00pm. To recap: Performance Day: April 23, 2015 at 7pm SAME Rehearsal Days: Thursdays NEW TIME: 3:30-5:00 pm Thank you in advance for your patience. Stay tuned for more information as the process unfolds. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mr. Lancaster by phone at the school (780) 846- 2822 or by email at [email protected] Sincerely, Mr. Lancaster, Mrs. Rathwell, Mrs. Byrt, and Mrs. Beal
