ROMANTIC DESCRIPTION ABV MALT/ HOPS GLASSWARE DIAMONDS, FUR COAT, CHAMPAGNE Diamonds, Fur Coat, Champagne is named after a song by the 70’s NYC nowave/minimal band Suicide. A tart wheat ale fermented with lactobacillus. Bitterness, alcohol and residual sugar are very low allowing the late-boil addition of elderflowers and fresh grapefruit peel, and dryhopping with Hallertau Blanc to shine through. The recipe was written to mimic some of the floral and citrus character of a brut Champagne. 3.8% MALT: pils and wheat tulip or wine glass BEING THERE Being There is named after one of our favorite movies by the same name. The movie Being There was Peter Sellers’ last film role and takes place in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC where the Right Proper brewpub is located. This bready, floral, unfiltered beer is inspired by age-old German tradition. The beer is matured while the yeast is still active, producing a light effervescence with balanced malt and hop flavors present in the dry finish. 5.0% The name Raised by Wolves is a play on the botanical name for hops, Humulus Lupulus, meaning “ground wolf”. A medium-bodied, aromatic, dry-hopped pale ale. Not quite an India pale ale, nor a typical American pale ale, we brew Raised by Wolves to highlight the rich flavors and aromas of hops rather than their bitterness. This beer has aromas reminiscent of lush tropical, citrus and stone fruits with a juicy body that you can sink your teeth into. 5.0% Haxan is named after a super trippy Danish/ Swedish silent era documentary about the history of witchcraft. This strong and full-bodied Baltic-leaning porter has dominant flavors of coffee and chocolate frosting. Try this beer with chocolate and peanut butter cookies or a bowl of vanilla ice cream. 7.0% AROMATIZED BERLINER-STYLE WEISSE KELLERBIER RAISED BY WOLVES AROMATIC PALE ALE HÄXAN ROBUST PORTER HOPS: halleratu blanc MALT: pils tumbler HOPS: magnum, tettnanger, mt. hood and sterling MALT: pale, caramunich and oats tumbler HOPS: simcoe, citra and comet MALT: pale, munich, caramunich, caraaroma, carafa, pale chocolate and oats HOPS: magnum tumbler YEAR ROUND BEERS [FOEDER FERMENTED] A foeder (pronounced FOOD-er) is a large wooden vat - in our case, 45 hectolitres - made out of French oak. Foeders allow a slow ingress of oxygen into the beer, which offers a thriving environment for wild yeast strains. Right Proper Brewing Company has 3 foeders, two of which housed one vintage of white wine, and one that housed one vintage of red wine. NAME/ STYLE WHAT’S IN A NAME? This pale beer is brewed with a blend of both beech wood and cherry wood smoked malts. The Lubitsch Touch is very light and refreshing take on a German rauchbier, with just a touch of balanced smoke in the finish. A nonsense word invented by Edward Lear in his children’s poem “The Owl and the Pussycat.” If a brewer working on a farm in Belgium made an IPA, it might taste something like this. This brett IPA is medium bodied but light on your palate. A touch of acidity dances playfully amongst notes of tropical and citrus fruits and fresh cut flowers. 4.8% MALT: pils, beech wood smoked and cherry wood smoked tumbler HOPS: magnum and sterling 6.7% MALT: pils, pale, red wheat, oats, munich tulip HOPS: LIMITED RELEASE BEERS [FOEDER FERMENTED] NAME/ STYLE ORNITHOLOGY GRISETTE WHAT’S IN A NAME?
