Personification is the type of figurative language when you describe something non-human by giving that item
human characteristics. (Ex: The pencil jumped off of my desk.)
You will write five original sentences that contain words to create personification. Each sentence is worth four points.
Directions:
1. Plan the words that you will use that create personification. ***You must create ORIGINAL
objects/actions/phrases. Do not copy any of the examples below!!!***
2. Choose the object and the action.
3. Combine your object and action to create your sentence. Use as much detail as you can! (Include
other types of figurative language!)
4. Proofread your work for correct grammar, usage and mechanics.
5. Highlight the examples of personification! Only highlight the object and the action.
(Example: The oven timer screams at me when the cookies are done.)
