5,000 square foot gallery.
m 8,000gallon aquarium stocked with native fish from the Currituck Sound
m world-class decoy gallery with more than 250 antique waterfowl decoys
m life-size diorama of a duck blind in a salt marsh
m exhibit scavenger hunt for grades 2–8 to guide your discovery
Allow time to visit the Wild Store. Space is tight, so please rotate students through no
more than 10 at a time with adequate adult supervision.
While you’re here, enjoy a tour of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse and
the Whalehead Club. All three facilities are located on the beautiful
grounds of Currituck Heritage Park. Large groups often choose to
divide into smaller groups and visit each site in rotation. Group leaders
must arrange visits separately with each facility. Small groups may
also consider visiting the Corolla Wild Horse Museum in the nearby
historic village of Corolla.
Groups that visit Currituck Heritage Park at the lunch hour are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy picnic spots in both sun and
shade. Food service is not available, but a picnic shelter may be reserved
by contacting the Whalehead Club.
