PROGRAM
A Team Tuition is the world’s first ever Academic Personal Training Company. This is due to
the fact that A Team Tuition has successfully created the world’s first ever Creating A Students
Program, which rather than merely generic tutoring, is specifically designed to create A
students.
The program was designed by Hayden McEvoy and Libbie Rowley-James throughout their
academic, vocational and anecdotal experience to date. Hayden, transforming from an early
secondary school D and C student to a HD science student at university and Libbie throughout
her years of successful teaching and further development and research into the world’s most
effective education systems. The program aims for students to adapt the typical behaviours and
mindset of an A student throughout all aspects of academia.
The academic personal training strategy bridges the gap of knowledge by teaching everyday
students how to develop a smarter, stronger work ethic for their own academic career. Through
structure, strategy and mentorship, any student can become an A standard student.
Academic Personal Training, pioneered by A Team Tuition, is the combination of the world’s
most effective education systems integrated with our very own academic strategy and
mentorship programs designed to equip students with the secrets to academic success.
Academic Personal Training also involves the entire process of creating optimal teachers who
are continually growing and developing themselves. This is done throughout effective yet
rigorous hiring procedures targeted to identify teachers who have potential to become life
changers. All targeted teachers then commence the A Team Tuition Academic Personal Trainer
Accreditation Program which enables them to grow and develop into one of the most elite

STUDENTS PROGRAM
Primary School Program Structure
The Primary School Creating A Students Program runs from Week 1 of each term to Week
10 of each term. Most students will also continue tutoring throughout the holidays as this
period allows for an opportunity where skills and knowledge gaps can be worked on, when the
pressure of school assessment is absent from the student’s life. This system allows for students
who fall behind due to small fundamental gaps in their knowledge to be able to catch up and
ultimately reach their full potential.
Our primary school tutoring program is tailored at each individual student. We work one on one
with them in determining their strengths, weaknesses, future opportunities and threats of their
basic academic skills. Throughout this process we begin by establishing a strong base of support
for the student to work upon which includes connecting the student, parent, tutor and teacher.
This network of support is the foundation for which our program is then built upon as each
component provides different insight into the student’s background and what exactly is going
on.
From here, a customised plan is created where our session delivery is key. We aim to analyse,
inspire, teach and mentor our young students through fun, interactive sessions tailored to their
personal learning language that will keep them engaged and connected.
Throughout this process we transform students, allowing them to develop a foundation of
success to build upon into their academic futures.
Our primary school philosophy is simple: Every Child Needs A Hero.
Secondary School Program Structure
The Creating A Students Program runs from Week 1 of each term to Week 10 of each term.

Keep in mind that the above guidelines extend over every term and that the content of the
Creating A Students Program is reinforced each school term. This is to ensure that our students
successfully adopt these principles. Each school term, all of the strategies are individually
tweaked for each student depending upon their goals. The pressures that weigh on students
can change term to term, and so too do problems vary student to student, this program was
built to effectively analyse the strengths and weaknesses of each student and create a system
to empower the strengths and diminish the weaknesses. This principle is the core of the
program – a flexible base that allows adaptable teachers to stem from, to cater to the individual
needs of each and every individual student.

Where are we located?
A Team Tuition is currently located across all suburbs of Brisbane and the Gold Coast as we
come to you. The company aims to expand across all of Australia into the future.
Where do the sessions take place?
Our sessions can take place in either the convenience of your own home, or at an agreed
location with the Academic Personal Trainer such as a boarding house or library.

HOW WE SELECT AND TRAIN OUR STAFF
At A Team Tuition, staff quality is a major priority. The company credits itself as having the
most qualified, well trained and professional staff of any company in the Australian Tuition
Industry. The table on the following page lists all major quality control processes that we recruit
to ensure all our staff are of the culture of A Team Tuition; transformationalists.
Blue-Card and Police Check
All staff are required to own a BlueCard which entails a complete individual
background and police check.
How We Recruit
A Team Tuition utilises a three stage
recruitment process:
1. Resume and Cover Letter audits to ensure
the right character profile is hired.
2. Phone/Skype interview to determine
whether an applicant’s personality fits the
culture of an A Team Tuition mentor.
3. In person interview to further determine
whether the applicant has the right
personality as well as the potential to
teach and mentor successfully.
*6-10 applicants are successful from between
100-200 job position enquiries every quarter
How We Train
All staff are required to complete a 16 hour
orientation training program over two days
before they can begin with their first student.
Further training is completed throughout
their job life-cycle on a weekly basis as they
advance within the company.

Continual Growth and
Development
Weekly mentoring phone calls are run to all
staff by management, where each student is
discussed in detail. Here staff are challenged
to reflect upon their sessions and how they
managed and taught their students along with
how they can further accelerate their success.
Professional Accountability
A Team Tuition ensures that all staff are
held accountable for all of their students.
This is done through a quantitative KPI
system, coined the A Team Tuition Academic
Personal Training Rank System. This system
is a points system in which all staff start from
0 points upon employment – no matter their
qualifications or background.
From here staff gain points every quarter for
a range of factors which are included in their
everyday KPI’s. This way, for staff to advance
within the company they must perform and
engage with the company. This also allows all
staff to be monitored based upon non-biased
factors, thus decreasing human bias factors in
management.

GENERAL INFORMATION
How to make a booking or future
bookings?
All initial bookings can be made by calling or
emailing the company. Our administration
team will assist you with any questions you
may have and will book in an initial session
for you. After the initial session all future
sessions can easily be arranged in person
or over the phone with your personalised
Academic Personal Trainer. This saves you the
hassle from having to call us all the time. All
our Academic Personal Trainers are happy for
you to contact them via phone, text or email;
whichever you prefer.
How do I know I will have the best
Academic Personal Trainer for me?
Our job is to provide our clientele with
Academic Personal Trainers who can
individually connect with them as mentors
as opposed to merely teachers. Therefore,
our trainer/student relationships are of
the utmost importance to us. We have
an excellent knowledge base of our staff
and their characteristics, experience and
qualifications. We will select the most
suitable Academic Personal Trainer based on
your requirements regarding the student’s
current ability, strengths, weaknesses, special
requirements, subjects, location, preferred
gender and availability.
If for some reason you feel as though the
Academic Personal Trainer we allocated
you is not the best fit, just let us know what
went wrong and we’ll find you a replacement
Academic Personal Trainer as soon as
possible. We understand that relationships
can’t be forced and will not take offense to
your request.

How do I make Payments?
A Team Tuition accepts the following
payment methods:
• Direct Deposit
• Credit Card – Through a link on
your invoice or over the phone with
management
• Cheque
We do not accept any cash payments. All
invoices are emailed out every Monday or
Tuesday with a 7-day account period.
What do I need to bring?
A Team Tuition staff supply the following
equipment for all sessions:
• A4 Writing pads for note taking to provide
to students after the session.
• Pens, pencils, highlighters.
• The Creating A Students Resource Manual
to be used to manage all sessions and
action plans week to week (this is not
applicable for general tutoring students).
Students will be expected to provide the
following equipment:
• Any specific course content, textbooks
or other resources applicable to their
course work. This is so our Academic
Personal Trainers can individually tailor
the sessions to exactly what our students
are learning in class.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
PARENTS THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM
Although A Team Tuition specialises in Academic Strategy and mentoring, the influence
parents have on their child’s success will always outweigh all of these factors combined.
Therefore, to obtain the absolute optimal results on board with A Team Tuition it is imperative
that you work alongside us and not against us. The foundation of our Creating A Students
Program is to generate a student-parent-academic personal trainer relationship where each
party works together as a team to achieve success. In saying this we ask that you agree to the
following before starting with A Team Tuition:
1. Ensure that optimal communication with the
Academic Personal Trainer is maintained on
a regular basis either in person, on the phone
or via email. This can be done through a quick
debrief after each session. Our staff are
trained to conduct this with you. This way we
can inform you on how the progress is going
and if there are any issues at the current time
that need to be resolved.
2. Ensure that effort is rewarded over
achievement. This is imperative as we want
to promote consistent effort to our students
not just the achievement of an overall grade.
By promoting effort, students will continue
to work harder and grade improvements will
naturally come.
3. If the student does not perform as well on an
exam as you hoped for, do not simply assume
that it is solely the Academic Personal Trainers
fault and abandon the tuition. Generally,
students come on to our program with poor
academic habits and these habits can be
difficult to break. It is our job to work with
the students and their failures each term to
teach them how to utilise failure for growth
and development. If you abandon tuition
due to a failure you are promoting your
child to avoid failure rather than utilise the
opportunity to grow and develop. However,
if you feel the Academic Personal Trainer
has underperformed, please speak with
management as we can further investigate and
assist you in finding a resolution.

Whilst your input is appreciated our staff
are professionals in their domain and have
undergone significant training to become
Academic Personal Trainers. Having
confidence in your Academic Personal Trainer
is crucial to your child’s success. If you have
confidence, then the student will too. Be
mindful of the message you send regarding
your Academic Personal Trainer as this can
significantly affect the student’s attitude
towards them and thus their success on board
with us.
5. ‘A’ standard grades are not always achieved
over-night. We have had situations where
students have gone from E standard grades to
A standard grades in a single term but we have
also had many students take years to achieve
the same improvements. Each student is
individual and will require a different approach
and strategy to assist them in improving.
Students spend on average 30 hours per week
at school so it is not realistic to assume that
they will improve so drastically over night
or from a few sessions. Think of a Personal
Trainer, you don’t just go to the gym once
per week for 1 hour and lose 10kg, it takes
time and is not always a steady road, just as
it does with achieving grade improvements.
By understanding the time, it takes to achieve
grade improvements and by being realistic
it will take the pressure of both yourself, the
Academic Personal Trainer and your child
whilst they begin their journey towards
success with us.

CURRENT RESEARCH AND PROGRAM
PERFORMANCE
A pilot study designed by A Team Tuition was conducted with 106 of its students in 2012 and
2013. The study involved students undergoing the A Team Tuition Creating A Students Program
with one on one mentoring from an accredited A Team Tuition Academic Personal Trainer.
Summary of Results
Throughout the study it was found that a student who commenced the Creating A Students
Program in 2012/2013 had an increase in academic performance by 26.6%.
The average grade before the program was found to be a B- whereas the average grade after
the program was found to be an A-.

General Questions
Can I speak to the tutor before the first
session?
Yes. After the initial booking your Academic
Personal Trainer will call you to introduce
themselves and to discuss your requirements
and needs prior to the initial sessions.
What happens if my Academic Personal
Trainer leaves A Team Tuition?
From time to time this does occur, however
it is not common. If this does occur, we will
call you to inform you of their leave date. At
this stage your current tutor will meet with
us and your new allocated tutor in person
at our headquarters. Here they exchange all
progress reports and details before arranging
the transfer. Whilst, most transfer sessions
are attended by both respective tutors, we
analyse each situation individually and will
implement the most logical strategy to ensure
the seamless transfer of the student.
What happens if I cannot schedule a time
with my Academic Personal Trainer due to
conflicting schedules?
Unfortunately, this does occur occasionally. In
this situation simply send us a quick email or
call explaining the situation and we will do our
best to find a resolution. Our staff also inform
us of these situations and we also work with
them to resolve the issue.
What if my Academic Personal Trainer does
not know how to answer a questions or
has trouble with some of the content I am
working on?

Realistically, this can occur as the Queensland
curriculum is delivered differently across all
schools and different teachers also prefer
different styles and methods. Sometimes an
Academic Personal Trainer will come across
a question they may have not seen before.
Fortunately, our staff are highly trained to
problem solve and discover how to answer
these questions. They also do this naturally
with their own learning.
In this situation they would either utilise
resources to work it out themselves or if
this is not effective after the session call
our management and be put in touch with
another staff member who may know the
answer and can help them. We promote this
problem solving process in our company as it
is an effective means of demonstrating to our
students how to research and find answers for
themselves if they do not know what to do or
become stuck. Essentially this teaches them to
problem solve in tough situations as opposed
to giving up.
What if I want help with an additional
subject after starting with my Academic
Personal Trainer?
In the case where you are requiring help with
a subject that your Academic Personal Trainer
is not able to assist you with, simply just get in
contact and we will arrange a new Academic
Personal Trainer who does specialise in those
subjects to come and work with you. Our staff
also inform us of these situations and we also
work closely with them to resolve these issue.
Who do I inform if I want to cancel or
reschedule a session?
It is simple to reschedule or cancel a session,
all you need to do is get in contact with your
Academic Personal Trainer and they will assist
you here.

What happens if all Academic Personal
Trainers are booked with no spaces
available?
Towards the end of each term we generally
are booked out. In this situation we will inform
you of this and place you on a waiting list.
From here we will be in touch again shortly
once we have some space open up to organise
your initial session.
Payment and Packages
What is the maximum time frame I have to
pay my invoice?
Our invoices run off a 7-day account meaning
that you have 7 days from receiving the
invoice to pay the total amount. If you cannot
pay the total amount, please let us know as
soon as possible so we can arrange alternate
payment options with you.

How can we find out how many hours are
left on our package?
As of January 2016 A Team Tuition will be
introducing a new software system where
clientele will be able to log onto our own
portal system and view all details of packages
and sessions. However, as we are currently
developing this, in the meantime all our
packages are monitored on our current
system. Simply call us or send us an email and
we will respond with the amount of hours left
on your package. We can also send you your
activity list which entails all session details so
you can cross check it for yourself if you wish.
If I decide to purchase a package can I credit
any outstanding payments?
Yes, you can. Just let our friendly staff know
you wish to do this and we can arrange it.
What happens if I pay after 7 days?
By paying after 7 days you risk the tuition
being suspended until all tuition fees are up
to date. If you have finished up with us, we
reserve the right to charge interest on any
administration fees used to contact you to
collect the payment.
What is the time frame that packages have
to be utilised in?
All packages have one calendar year to be
utilised within.
What happens if we forfeit tuition before
finalise the package?
Due to the discount rate for all packages we
generally do not offer refunds. However, we
do look at all requests individually and within
reason may allocate a refund.

Terms and Conditions
Now that you have an idea of how A Team Tuition
works, there are a few guidelines in relation to
your personalised program and Academic Personal
Trainer.
VII. A Parent is to be home throughout all sessions
and all sessions are prohibited from taking place
in student’s personal bedrooms as required by the
Australian Tutoring Association code of conduct.
II. It is essential that if you have to cancel a session it
is rebooked in the same week or a make-up session
is completed in the following week.
VIII.Payment for all sessions is required on completion
of the session and terms of payment will apply
to all sessions. Payment can be made either via a
direct debit, cheque or credit card (over the phone
or via email).

III. Notification of 24 hours is required for all
cancelled sessions. In the event that this period is
not given, you will be required to pay the standard
session fee unless you have rescheduled the
session either the same week or as a makeup
session in the following week.
IV. A Team Tuition’s working hours are flexible
at yours and our Academic Personal Trainer’s
convenience. We come to your location to
conduct all sessions, unless you have an alternate
arrangement or preference. If there are any
hassles - no matter how small - management is
available between 9am and 6pm by telephone
Monday to Friday on 5526 0351 or 0433 745 900.
Otherwise feel free to call your Academic Personal
Trainer with any enquiries as they will be able to
help you with most things. We are all more than
happy to chat at your convenience. If for some
reason we are unable to make the call, we promise
that we will make every effort to return your call
within 24 hours.
V. In regards to booking confirmations, you will
receive a 24-hour confirmation booking text
from our scheduling system. You will then receive
another text or call from your Academic Personal
Trainer on the same day as your session, at least
6-12 hours prior. If you do not get a text from
the company or from your personal tutor, please
do not assume that the session is confirmed. If
no contact is made assume the session has not
been confirmed. Please do not ignore, call your
Academic Personal Trainer or our management
team to sort the confirmation of the booking.
VI. A parent or both parents are to be integrated
into the initial session to allow for the successful
creation of the A Team Tuition support network.
The parent is then to oversee that the students’
strategies and homework questions/tasks are
completed each week prior to the next session.

IX. If you are not satisfied or feel uncomfortable
with your Academic Personal Trainer, please
do not hesitate to call management as they will
accommodate and allocate another staff member
to work with you. Do not feel as though it will
offend us or our staff - it is our job to find the best
possible Academic Personal Trainer to suit your
needs.
X. From time to time, a tutor may no longer be
available to work with your student as sometimes
life gets in the way. In the event that this occurs,
A Team Tuition will provide you with another
Academic Personal Trainer of equivalent skill to
continue the program. In this scenario we will
ensure both Academic Personal Trainer’s meet to
discuss the transfer.
XI. You must pay to A Team Tuition all payments on
completion of your session. Payments made after
7 days are considered late and may attract an
11.5% interest charge. A Team Tuition reserves the
right to refer the outstanding invoices to a debt
collection agency at a cost to the client.
XII. No refund of fees is offered after all tuition
sessions have been completed unless exceptional
circumstances arise which will be investigated and
merited on a one to one basis.
XIII.All packages are non-refundable and have a 1-year
maximum time limit to be utilised from the date of
purchase.
XIV. A Team Tuition refers to the Trustee for Limitless
