COURSE DESIGN
Designed by Robert Muir Graves, who described the course as
“offering an extraordinary golfing opportunity rarely available
today,” the par 72 course provides players with breathtaking views
of sweeping hillsides, towering pine trees, lakes and vast valleys.
This unique blend of a links-style and Alpine golf course features
seven sets of tees which will challenge low handicap players, as
well as golfers of all abilities.
A prolific golf course architect, Graves has participated in more
than 650 golf course projects around the world, and is best known
for his work in the western United States. Many of his courses
including Black Butte Ranch, Canterwood, Port Ludow and Lake
Merced have received acclaim from both players and the media.

eagles.
INSTRUCTION
Head Golf Professional David La Fata provides students with
personalized instruction that impacts every aspect of a player’s
golf game. Individual and group instruction is held in the Learning
Center utilizing the latest video technology to help students
analyze their swing. La Fata emphasizes a teaching strategy of
ball flight correction through swing plane adjustment, allowing
students to identify and correct their positions to shape their swing
for more consistent, repeatable ball flight. Students will also learn
the benefits of a proper pitching technique and how it promotes a

CLINICS, CAMPS
& TOURNAMENTS
Golf clinics highlight every aspect of the game and include
personalized instruction for all player levels. Junior clinics and
camps for youths ages 4-15 are available throughout the summer.

PGA Junior League - Young golfers 13 and under can participate
in PGA Junior League, designed to bring a “Little League”
atmosphere to the game of golf. Teams of boys and girls compete
in a friendly and fun way, which helps to introduce young golfers

Toiyabe Golf Club is a premier location for tournaments and golf
events throughout the year. Group outings may be made for
groups of 16 or more. Prices and inclusions vary. Contact

GOLF SHOP
The Golf Shop at Toiyabe Golf Club offers members and guests
the latest in men’s and women’s golf attire and equipment to
enhance any player level. Men can choose new summer offerings
from Travis Mathew, Adidas and Ashworth. Women’s fashions
include Adidas, EP Pro and Sport Haley. Players can choose from
TaylorMade’s latest offerings in golf equipment and FootJoy and

TEE-TIMES
Arrange individual or group tee-times by calling the Golf Shop at
(775) 884-4597. Cancelations are required 72–hours in advance.
Members may reserve a tee time through the Members’ website
login. Founding, Gold and Copper members will have 14-day
advance tee times. All other members will have 10-day advance
tee times.
CLUBHOUSE
At the center of this breathtaking golf course is the Toiyabe Golf
Clubhouse with an array of facilities and services to complement
the player’s and their guests golf outing or simply to enjoy on their
own. Amenities include:
Restaurant – Members and guests can enjoy breakfast or lunch
while soaking in panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada. Breakfast
and lunch are served Wednesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m.
to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with
brunch also being served on Saturday & Sunday.
Hours will change with the season and the restaurant may be
closed for special events.

Catering – Toiyabe Golf Club also offers catering services for
special events, meetings and weddings on-site, including
customized menus and themes.
Weddings – Nestled against the Sierra Nevada and overlooking
Washoe Valley and Slide Mountain,Toiyabe Golf Club offers a
breathtaking venue for engagement parties and weddings from
20-200. Waterfalls, wooden bridges, a lush green golf course –
and even a rustic school house provide the ideal backdrop for a
lifetime of photos.
Toiyabe Golf Club’s wedding and events team will ensure every
detail of the big day is accommodated from the plethora of outdoor
and indoor venues, to the catering, photo backdrops, champagne
toasts and a sparkler send-off to close out the night.

HISTORY
Toiyabe Golf Club’s roots date back to 1994 when Bob and Cathy
Weise opened the course as Lightning W Ranch. Founding Club
Members Roger and Gail Block purchased the club in 1999 from
the membership renaming it Thunder Canyon. The Blocks
provided the club stability and a lasting legacy until Gayle Block
decided to sell the club following the loss of her husband and
business partner of 38 years. In June 2016, she sold the club to
Stan Jaksick, a long-time friend and someone she trusted in
leading the club to a successful future as a premier golf course.
Jaksick recently completed a 22-year tenure as President of the
acclaimed Montrêux Golf and Country Club in Reno.

The club was renamed Toiyabe Golf Club in June 2016. Toiyabe
has special meaning to the Jaksick family. Coupled with the
beautiful layout of the golf course in the foothills of the Toiyabe
National Forest and the Sierra Nevada, it was timely to change the
name and start a new chapter as Toiyabe Golf Club.
Toiyabe Golf Club is a semi-private golf club nestled in the foothills of the Toiyabe National
Forest and the Sierra Nevada in Washoe Valley, Nevada. The club’s signature 18-hole Robert
Muir Graves-designed course is a natural blend of links-style and Alpine golf that will challenge
low handicap players, as well as golfers of all abilities. Professional golf instruction is offered, as
are golf clinics, camps and tournaments, including a PGA Junior League. Toiyabe Golf Club is
open year-round and features a restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining, wedding and corporate
