Keg-Meter installation and operating instructions

Keg-Meter installation and operating instructions:
Tools needed:
Drill and drill bit
10-14 oz. measuring cup with “ounces” markings.
The Keg-Meter will constantly display the number of 12 oz. beers left in your keg. It will show you the
number of ounces of beer poured while you are filling your glass. It will also display the temperature of
your keg refrigerator. When calibrated properly, the Keg-Meter will be accurate to +/- 10 beers. This
should give you enough warning for you to plan on when to get a new keg. NOTE: The Keg-Meter uses a
pressure sensor to sense the flow of beer. If your keg pressure is set too low, the Keg-Meter may not
operate properly. If the Keg-Meter is not operating properly see the FAQs at www.Keg-Meter.com or
email [email protected] for help.
Features:
Display #beers left in keg (12oz beers)
Temperature of keg
Barrel size selection
Manually set beers remaining.

*Most CO2 keg systems need at least 5 feet of 3/16” beer tubing from the keg to the faucet for proper
balancing (and pouring) of the system.
Step 1. Cut beer tube at the proper distance (according to your refrigeration type) from the faucet. See
diagram below for distances and refrigerator type.
Tower Dispenser – 12”-15”
Door Dispenser – 6”-8”
Step 2. Place the sensor ‘tee’ as shown in the diagram below. Note: Heating the cut ends of the beer tube
with a hair dryer or heat gun will make the installation of the ‘tee’ easier.
Wire harness attaches here.
Step 3. Drill a 1/4” hole in refrigerator for mounting the Keg-Meter. Door dispenser type- mount on front
of refrigeration unit. Tower dispenser type- mount on top of refrigeration unit.

Mount Keg-Meter with removable adhesive strips supplied.
Calibrate the Keg-Meter (see Calibration instructions below). Caution: this requires drinking beer.
Pour beer and watch it work!
Calibrate- the Keg-Meter requires calibration when first installed. You should not have to calibrate it
again unless you change the pressure of your system (or just need an excuse to drink a beer). Changing the
pressure of your system will effect the calibration but you can calibrate the system at any time. To
calibrate,
1) Press the “Cal./Reset” button for about 2 seconds and release, “CAL” should be displayed on the
Keg-Meter.
2) Pour a nice cold beer into a measuring cup. It is recommended to pour atleast 10 oz of beer for
calibration. Measure the amount of beer poured allowing the head to settle out first. You will
now enter the measured ounces to the tenth of an ounce (ex. 12.4).
3) If the number of ounces is greater than 10.0 then press the “Temperature/Set” button to set the tens
place of the measured ounces (ex. 1 for 12.4). If the number of ounces is less than 10 then go to
the next step.
4) Press “Cal./Reset” to move to the next digit. Press “Temperature/Set” button to set the ones place
(ex. 2 for 12.4oz). Press “Cal./Reset” to move to the next digit.
5) Press “Temperature/Set” button to set the tenths place (ex. 4 for 12.4oz). Press the “Cal./Reset”
button to complete the calibration. If you mess up don’t worry, just try it again or email
[email protected] for help.
Temperature- to show the temperature of the keg refrigeration unit, press the “Temperature/Set” button.
The temperature (in degrees Fahrenheit) will be displayed for about 3 seconds.
Barrel size selection- press the “Cal./Reset” button once until “CAL” is displayed then press the
“Cal./Reset” button again. “165”, “82”, or “53” should be displayed. Press the “Temperature/Set” button
to toggle between 165 beers (1/2 barrel), 82 beers (1/4 barrel), and 53 beers (1/6 barrel). Once the desired
size is displayed press the “Cal./Reset” button.
Manually set beers left- in case you’re in the middle of a keg when you install the Keg-Meter you can
manually set the number of beers left in your keg. First approximate how many beers are left in your keg.
This can be done by weight. A full keg weighs about 130lbs. An empty keg weighs about 10lbs. 12oz of
beers weighs about 0.75lbs. (Example: If your keg weighs 100lbs. Subtract the weight of the actual
keg(about 10lbs). Divide 90lbs by 0.75lbs. This will give about 120 beers.) Hold down the “Cal./Reset”
button until 165(or 73 for _ barrel) appears and flashes on the display. When the number flashes quickly,
press the “Temperature/Set” button to decrease the number of beers to the desired number. Press the
“Cal./Reset” button when done.
