Spelling Practise ‘oo’ sound: common homophones. Spelling Test – Monday 23rd January 2017 1. Look at the word and say it 3 times. Try saying the tricky part of the word in a different voice. E.g sound out the ‘k’ in knew in a funny voice. 2. Cover the word and write it down. Then check the word: have you spelt it correctly? If yes . If no . 3. Now do this two more times. 4. Look again at the words at least twice more during the week. Regular spelling practise is vital in order to help your child. Red words generally can’t really be Fred fingered. In their weekly spelling test, children will be writing these words in sentences. Therefore, whilst practising for the spelling test, it would be good practise for your child to write some sentences of their own at home containing these words.
