occupational health in India by enabling stakeholders, influencing policy makers

IAOH is committed to enable occupational health professionals to make India's workplace
healthy, safe and green-free from the ill effect of hazards, by evolving effective solutions.
Goals
IAOH has over 3000 occupational health physicians, Industrial hygienists, Safety
professionals, Social workers and counsellors to realize our future vision. In addition to
strengthening our current activities, we plan to expand our scope to address the following broad
objectives.
• Create awareness about health, safety and environmental hazards of industrial process
among the public, workmen and the management of the industry particularly in the
unorganized and hazardous sectors.
• Prepare time-bound projects for designing and implementing Occupational Health, Safety
and Environmental protection in industry.
• Assist industries in design and implementation of Occupational Health Services within their
workplaces to improve the quality of healthcare in general and in occupational diseases in
particular.
• Start formal and informal training courses in Occupational health, Safety and Environment.
• Publish scientific journals, periodicals, books, literature and produce films, videos and
computer software relevant to the field of Occupational health, Safety and Environment.
• Carry out research in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, independently and in
collaboration with other agencies with similar aims and objects.
• Provide expertise in establishing Occupational Health Centres in and around industrial zones
and in creating relevant protocols for health screening and for standards of fitness for work.
• Liaise with the government and statutory agencies in drafting legislations in the matters of
Health, Safety and Environment and its implementation.
• Prepare a National Registry of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Experts in
collaboration with other agencies and provide such services to the industry.
• Prepare software for Medical Records for Occupational Health, Safety and Environment to
provide management information.
• Collaborate with International agencies active in the field of Occupational Health for crossborder transfer of technology with reference to best practices in Occupational Health.

The Way Forward...
Indian Association of Occupational Health is the leading non-governmental professional
association of occupational health and allied professionals in India. It is active in the development
and promotion of occupational health with 3000 members across 24 branches. It is organizing
national conferences on Occupational Health every year. The 67th annual, national conference
on Occupational Health, OCCUCON 2017, is being organized at New Delhi from 9th to 11th
February 2017 and PDC on 8th February 2017.
India contributes 17% of global population and is the third economy in the world (GDP by PPP)
and given the fact that India’s contribution is set to further increase, the current situation and
future of occupational health in India is very relevant to the future of occupational health in the
world.
The theme of the conference focuses on the current status and the future of occupational health
in India. It also underlines that integration & synergy with occupational safety & hygiene,
environment and collaboration with various allied organizations and international agencies is the
key to securing sustainable future of Occupational Health in the country.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Scientific Papers are invited from occupational health, safety and environment professionals. Papers should be
relevant and preferably deal with original work or practice experience and not “reviews” from journals or text books.
Topics chosen could be clinical, case studies, clinical trials, surveys or interesting cases. Several prizes and cash
awards will be given to deserving papers. Papers should be submitted to the Directorate Scientific Committee on or
before 28th November, 2016. Please submit a soft copy of the paper as a MS Word document by e-mail to the
Chairman, Scientific Committee at the following e-mail id: [email protected];

Ensure that the presenting author’s address, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses are
mentioned in the e-mail. Scientific Committee will be happy to advise you in preparing your Paper and final
computer slide presentation, if selected. There will be excellent audiovisual facilities for presentations, Viz. LCD
computer projection and video projection. Poster presentations may also be presented in the standard size of 4 feet
(Height) X 3 feet (Width). Poster should be in English. Charts, Drawings and Illustration must have self explanatory
notes. Font size should be readable from 1.5 meter distance. Author should remain present at the poster site for
discussion for his/her work at the scheduled time for exhibition at the conference. Time for each Scientific Paper
presentation will be restricted to 8 minutes, with additional 2 minutes for Q&A. Registration: The presenting author
must have registered for the conference having paid the registration fee. Otherwise the paper will not be included in
the programme.

SPONSORSHIP GUIDELINES
OCCUCON 2017 Conference and Exhibition Partnership Payment Policy
OCCUCON 2017 requires a 50% deposit on all partnership. This deposit must be submitted with the
signed partnership Contract in order to secure a sponsorship.
Upon receipt of a signed partnership contract and required deposit, OCCUCON 2017 will send the
partner a confirmation letter for the partnership agreement. No confirmation will be sent and no
partnership will be acknowledged or promoted, either in print or on the OCCUCON 2017 official
website, until the partner has submitted the partnership contract and required deposit.
The remaining 50% due amount of all OCCUCON 2017 sponsorships is due 30 days prior to the
event. If a participant has contracted a sponsorship within 30 days of the event, full payment is
required with submittal of partnership contract in order to confirm the sponsorship.
Cancellation policy
Should a partner elect to cancel its confirmed partnership before November 15, 2016, the partner
is not entitled to a refund of money paid to OCCUCON 2017.
If the company withdraws from the contract after having concluded the said contract, the company
hereby agrees to indemnify the partnership amount.
For all partnerships cancelled after November 15 2016 are required to pay & release complete
invoiced amount to OCCUCON 2017.
Partnership Deadline
In order for partnership to be promoted in OCCUCON 2017, partnership contracts must be
received prior to 15 November, 2016.
