Dot plots:
- Number line with dots on it
- Dots represent data given
- Must have a dot for each piece of data
outlier: A value that lies outside
the rest of the data
What every dot plot needs:
- Title
- Numbers labeled on numbe rline
- Dot for every data value given

1) Title
2)Key
3)Each data value is represented by one "stem" and "leaf"
4)There is only ONE "leaf" per data value
5)NO decimals inside a S&L plot. The key tells us where the decimals are

1) Find the smallest value
2) Find the largest value
3) Put in the stems
4) Put in the leaves
5) Include a key and title

Back-to-back stem-and-leaf plot:
Exact same as a regular stem-and-leaf
plot except for the data on the left the
leaves are "backwards"
*Just remember that the smallest
number for the leaves is always the
closest to the stem*
