Event Details
Booking a birthday party at FRNC will entitle you to 2 hours of fun! Threeyear old parties are limited to 1.5 hours to maximize the fun, please also be
aware that the party parent/adult must present for additional supervision
throughout the entirety of the birthday party.
Hour 1: An experienced FRNC educator will provide your child and his or her
friends with a program of your choice. See below for details.
Hour 2: This is time for your child and his or her friends to enjoy
refreshments, food and activities of your choice. FRNC will provide tables,
chairs, reusable plates, forks, cups, spoons and napkins. FRNC does not
provide food, cake, beverages or decorations. We encourage parents to
limit the number of decorations. We do not allow non-eco-friendly
decorations including balloons, noisemakers, streamers and piñatas.
Cost & Cancellation Policy
Birthday Parties are a member-only benefit at the environmentalist level
($100) or above. Membership may be added on the day of booking. (See
back for more information on membership)
The base party fee of $400 includes is for up to 20 children. The group size
is limited to 15 children for three-year old parties. All children aged 3 and
over (including siblings) are included in this count. Up to 5 additional
children may be added to the party for a $10 fee per child. The party may
not exceed 25 children. Certain party themes have a lower guest limit and
added components (campfires, crafts, etc.) will incur additional fees; see
“Party Specifics” below for details.
Full payment (cash or check) is required within three days of booking.
Membership is non-refundable. Payment is refundable less a $50 processing
fee if cancellation is requesting in writing 30 days prior to party date No
refunds are available less than 30 days prior to event.

Additional Information:
 You may come in to set up 30 minutes before the party start time.
You must vacate the party space within 30 minutes of the party end
time.
 You will have access to a full kitchen, including microwave, stove
and refrigerator.

Our party time slots include Friday afternoons from 3:30 – 5:30 pm
and Saturdays from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
Since parties fill up quickly, we suggest you book your party at a
minimum of 1.5 to 2 months in advance.
Plan ahead as we only host parties from September – May. There
are no parties in June, July and August.
How to Make Your Child’s Party “Green”!
Rye Nature Center now offers dishwasher safe and BPA free plates, cups
and silverware included in the cost of your child’s party. This not only helps
save you time and money, but helps eliminate waste.

When sending invitations, try sending electronic or plant-able invitations.
For decorating, we suggest you bring in as little as possible and if you
choose to decorate, you may only bring in eco-friendly and compostable
decorations. We do not allow balloons, piñatas, streamers, juice boxes, or
plastic water bottles.
When purchasing favors for your child’s party, we suggest looking for plantable, biodegradable or eco-friendly favors. Visit our website for more

When cleaning up after your child’s party, we require that you follow proper
waste and recycling procedures. We will provide garbage, recycling and
compost bins for your use. Remember, the more you recycle and compost,
the less we all waste!
Membership
Birthday Parties are a members-only benefit at the environmentalist level
($100) or above. As a member at FRNC, you are able to enroll in our
member-only programs including preschool ecology, Jung bugs, summer
camp and family campouts. You will also receive additional discounts on
public programs, vacation camps and school’s out workshops.
FRNC is a 501 (c)3 organization and membership helps support the
organization’s general operation costs. Membership is 100% tax deductible.
Host your child’s next birthday party in “green” fashion. The Friends of Rye
Nature Center offers birthday parties that are eco-friendly, educational and
of course a lot of fun! FRNC promotes parties with a green twist. We
provide re-useable tableware and compostable goods, as well as ecofriendly favors for an additional fee.
A variety of programs are available for all age groups. From animal
adventures to herbal tea parties, there’s something for everyone.
