1618 – Johannes Kepler discovered the third law of
planetary motion.
1817 – The New York Stock Exchange was founded.

1911 – The first International Women’s Day celebration was
held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
1917 – The U.S. Senate voted to limit filibusters by
adopting the Cloture Rule. This rule states that the
Senate can limit further consideration of a pending
matter by an additional 30 hours.

Before and after school Student
Support is held each day before
school in the Media Center from
8:00 – 8:35 a.m. and Monday –
Thursday after school from 3:104:05 p.m. You must stay in
Student Support for the entire
time. It is not a drop-in program.

Olympics Gymnastics competition
over the weekend! Cristina earned
a 4th place ribbon on the beam and
took home the GOLD on vault!

Track Tryouts
Tryouts for track will be held
Tuesday, March 21st and Wednesday,
March 22nd from 3:15-4:30 for all
runners. Shot put tryouts will be held
on Tuesday, March 28th. Permission
forms are in the rack outside the
Main Office and are due by Monday,
March 20th. No late forms will be
accepted!
Jazz Band
Jazz Band will rehearse today at
Prairie View from 4:-5:15 pm.

Girls Soccer Tryouts
Girls Soccer tryouts for all grades will be
held Monday, March 13th from 3:15-5:30
pm. Girls who make the first cut will be
asked back for a second tryout on
Wednesday, March 15th. Be prepared for
both indoor and outdoor tryouts!
Permission forms are in the rack outside
the Main Office and are due by Friday,
March 10th. NO LATE FORMS WILL BE
ACCEPTED!
Mathletes
Mathletes will meet today from 3:054:05 pm in Room 226.

Water Bottle Filling Station
Challenge
Last year Grissom Patriots saved
nearly 5,000 plastic water bottles
from ending up in landfills by using the
water bottle filling stations in the
Commons, the Fitness room and in the
hallway near the Art Room. So far this
year, we’ve saved 4,690 bottles from
landfills! Can we beat last year’s
total???
