Land: Rivers, hills, mountains, coastland
The Lakota Sioux Tribe:
Lived in teepees
Lived on the Great Plains
Traveled by horse and foot
Hunted buffalo/bison for food, clothing, and tools
Climate: Hot summers; harsh, cold winters
Land: Plains, prairies, rolling hills
The Pueblo Tribe:
Lived in apartment like houses called pueblo houses made
out of adobe
Lived in the Southwestern region
Traveled by foot
Hunted and farmed (corn, beans and squash – known as
the 3 sisters)
Climate: Hot days, cold nights, little rainfall
Land: High flatlands
Vocabulary:
Climate: The kind of weather an area has over a long
period of time.
Region: A place that has, or is defined by, common
characteristics. Example: Southwest is hot, dry, and high
flatlands.
Questions to answer:
How did people live there?
What did they make and do?
What did they use to build their home?
