HENRY: We, we don't have a good situation in that they know specifically what happened. STEVE: They do or don't? HENRY: They do. 20 STEVE: Oh, they do. 21 HENRY: However -- 22 STEVE: Yeah. 19 23 24 25 Okay. 3 1 2 HENRY: -- as I said to you, you know, they -- the bosses here are not happy with the, with the 3 turn of events. 4 where we went way out on a limb -STEVE: 5 They feel that we're in a position I can see what you're saying before you're even going to say it, obviously. 6 HENRY: Yeah. Yeah. That's why I'm saying 7 I would like to work with you so that we can get -- 8 and so that I can have a feeling that we're on a good 9 working relationship. 10 11 12 13 14 I still feel that way with you -STEVE: Well, I do, too. HENRY: -- and with David, too. However, their perception is quite different than my perception. That is to say -- STEVE: I wish that -- you know, I hope -- I 15 don't know that you're doing that or not, but I wish 16 you had a speaker phone or a recording that when you 17 talk to him or to me they could hear what he's saying, I'm hearing. 18 They can judge of the tone of voice, material, the subject matter, whatever. But I think 19 that you would see us to be sincere. 20 told or I'd tell them, is the program -- nothing's 21 changed other than that, you know, from the time I've 22 met him his experience has been one that's been of an 23 24 25 I mean, like I 4 1 other worldly way where I've not had experiences like 2 that or I -- nor have I ever known anyone else to have 3 had that. 4 always been based upon how he's to be led. 5 6 So, you know, like his every move, it's HENRY: Right, but -- STEVE: So that's, you know, that's where the difficulty comes in with not only a situation like 7 this but, you know, there's been other ones where 8 people don't know or understand that or it's something 9 that's out of the ordinary to them. 10 11 HENRY: Um-hum. See, but during this entire process if we were, we were saying to you or telling you that we were going to do one thing and we were 12 working, you know, in such a fashion that we were 13 starting to trust each other real well, and I asked 14 you for something very significant and you said yes, 15 but in, in return for that I would like you to do this 16 for me, and I would say as soon as you do that for me, 17 I will do that for you immediately. STEVE: 18 And I -- can I just say one thing? Really what it comes down to for him and myself -- 19 this is really what it would be for me as to why I'm 20 even waiting on him and I know that even if I -- and, 21 by the way, I did ask him multiple times and he kept 22 on giving me that same answer, "Wait." 23 24 25 So it didn't 5 1 matter how many times I asked him. 2 HENRY: Um-hum. 3 STEVE: But the bottom line for him as why 4 5 he doesn't deviate from that or even myself is because -- and that's what I don't think you would understand like I would or my experience has been. 6 God. That's fear I mean, he fears that if he does other than that 7 which has been given to him, he is in no end of 8 trouble and responsible for many, many individuals, 9 more than those that are here. 10 11 HENRY: I understand. STEVE: And like with myself, that's why I don't push him or anything because the experience I've 12 13 had with him is that it's always worked out for the best. 14 HENRY: I understand. 15 STEVE: So that's -- so, you know, it's like 16 17 I'm caught between a hard place and a rock. I appreciate who you are and what you're -- and you want to do and there -- and what we've worked up to this 18 19 point, but it's like, it's like there has, from your perspective probably, been a wrench dropped in there. 20 HENRY: That's right. 21 STEVE: And I understand. 22 23 24 25 saying. That's what I'm 6 1 HENRY: Because, because we went out on a 2 limb to get a lot of these things. 3 understand that we made phone calls -- 4 5 I mean, do you STEVE: I do. HENRY: -- to Phoenix so that we could have agents go out in the middle of the night to work? 6 7 Yes. Jim told me that ahead of HENRY: All these things out. Okay. time. 8 9 STEVE: Now, he didn't ask for any of that. 10 11 STEVE: Right. HENRY: We went because we felt that this was a legitimate situation -12 13 STEVE: I believe that. HENRY: -- where he sincerely believed that 14 that's what he wanted to do and we didn't -- I mean, 15 we could have -- we didn't have to tell him that. 16 didn't ask for that. STEVE: 17 He If this was another situation and this was not as it was, and another human being did 18 that for me, I mean, and I would not -- in a position 19 like this, I -- man, I'd do anything in this world to 20 encourage that kind of personality or that kind of a 21 person showing those kind of traits to other human 22 beings. 23 24 25 I mean, there's nothing more commendable. 7 1 But, you know, the bottom line is -- you know, I'm 2 stuck myself. 3 God he does and I know no matter what I say to him, he 4 -- even if I walked away, if I had walked away six 5 years ago, I'm stuck because I believe in the same he says, "Steve, I'm guided by this. -- I've been given the seven seals. 6 This This is my life. "And that same one that gave me the seals is the same 7 one that directs me and that same one said to me 8 wait," and, you know, with him, he told me that in the 9 beginning, when that process was happening to him. 10 11 When he went to Israel in '85 and that, that took place in that time, it was a hard thing that he told me to deal with in the beginning, being like anyone 12 13 else. HENRY: And, and, you know, and I believe in 14 him and in what he said and that's why I suggested 15 that we do this. 16 that we do that and he concurred, agreed, took what we 17 He didn't ask for that. I suggested suggested and then he made a promise based on -- we believed that he was being sincere -- 18 19 STEVE: As me. As me. HENRY: -- and he was being guided by God. 20 And then for him to renege and, as far as the bosses 21 are concerned, he reneged. 22 in what you're saying and I believe that he will do 23 24 25 Now, you know, I believe 8 1 the right thing eventually. 2 STEVE: Right. 3 HENRY: But they are convinced -- 4 STEVE: Okay. 5 stuck. 6 7 8 What am I going to do? I'm What would you -- I mean, I'm stuck -HENRY: I understand. STEVE: -- between a hard place and a rock HENRY: I understand. And I feel that I'm here. 9 stuck, too, and I need for you to, as best as you can, 10 if the opportunity presents itself to you, I need for 11 you to let him know that I am, as you are, between a rock and a hard spot -- 12 13 14 15 16 17 STEVE: Right. HENRY: -- because I can't give you anything, you know, until we get something in return. STEVE: Okay. Were you able to relate to them at least what I told you was happening within, like everybody's waiting, they're dressed. HENRY: Yes. STEVE: I'm glad about that because -- 19 HENRY: And that is helpful. 20 STEVE: Yeah. 21 HENRY: And I'm hoping that if at any moment 18 22 23 24 25 Yes. he sees a sign, hears a word, has a dream -- 9 1 STEVE: Exactly, exactly. 2 HENRY: -- or whatever, that we will -- that 3 4 5 6 we can proceed. STEVE: Exactly. I am with you a hundred percent on that, a hundred percent. HENRY: Okay. Do you feel that your goals and David's goals are the same? STEVE: Well, after all this time I would have to say in honesty, yes, I do. 18 19 HENRY: Okay. Okay. I do. Okay. Well, then maybe not and maybe you can explain it to me and I didn't understand when I spoke to Steve about this because David said -- 12 and this was not based on my prompting him or 13 anything. 14 read over the radio that he was coming out 15 immediately. 16 That's what he said. 17 He said that as soon as the message was Now, I didn't ask him to say that. RACHEL: HENRY: 18 Um-hum. Okay? Now, I don't understand why if he said that that he's waiting. Now -- okay. Now, 19 he, he has said that he's been told to wait. 20 what I'm trying to understand is -- and when I say 21 divine inspiration, I don't know if he's waiting to, 22 to hear something or to see something or to dream 23 24 25 Now, 19 1 something. 2 waiting for. They don't know anything. Concerned about what? In terms of his reluctance to leave. You mean, as to their safety? 21 1 2 HENRY: 5 His own. Not so much safety, but -RACHEL: 3 4 No. safety, no. Oh, no. He's not worried about his He's got more -- his burden is much heavier than that. He is not worried about his, his flesh. 6 HENRY: 7 RACHEL: Um-hum. Okay. Okay. Like he explained to you earlier, 8 that you try to hold -- I don't remember how he said 9 it now, but hold back, you know, what goes on out 10 11 there and he tries to keep the wrath of God from you, people out there in the world, because -- I mean, if you read the Bible and study it very much, I don't 12 13 know if you do, but when God gets angry, better watch out. 14 HENRY: 15 RACHEL: 16 HENRY: 17 19 I mean, nature takes place. Um-hum. Well, that's true. I can understand that. RACHEL: 18 Um-hum. And he would like for the whole world to be saved. HENRY: Well, see, and I think a lot, and I 20 think a lot of -- millions of people listened to his, 21 to his word and we facilitated that. 22 get that message out, and part -- 23 24 25 We helped him to 22 1 2 RACHEL: We couldn't even talk to the media. HENRY: 6 You know, he is waiting for this, Okay. Okay. If something were to happen to him, that is if his health were to fail him, 7 you know, and you and I spoke about this before, I 8 would like to feel that you can take a position of 9 leadership within the, within the compound. 10 11 RACHEL: HENRY: Why is that? Because we need for everybody to follow the lead -12 13 14 RACHEL: I don't have communication with God. HENRY: 16 RACHEL: RACHEL: 20 HENRY: 21 RACHEL: 22 HENRY: 24 25 Okay. David made a -- gave me his solemn word and I'm in a very difficult position of having to answer, having to answer up as to why David 18 is not, you know, doing what he gave his word that he 19 was going to do. 20 want to, I don't want to bother you. 21 bother anybody. 22 situation where I can feel good about having to 23 24 25 So, you know, believe me, I don't I don't want to I just want to try to be in a 26 1 explain why David is doing whatever it is that he's 2 doing. 3 RACHEL: 4 HENRY: 5 Um-hum. HENRY: Oh, nothing. 17 Just wanted to make sure everything's okay, everybody's -18 STEVE: I've been keeping a -- every now and 19 then because I haven't slept. 20 watch on him and -- I've been keeping a 21 HENRY: Um-hum. 22 STEVE: -- his condition and he seems to be, 23 24 25 29 1 you know, very stable as to what it last was so, if 2 anything it seems, you know, better. 3 HENRY: Okay. 4 STEVE: So hopefully it will be an 5 improvement and so that doesn't seem to be as major a concern, but I guess one doesn't know. 6 HENRY: Now, is he resting comfortably? 7 You're not -- you don't think there's anything wrong 8 with him, do you? 9 10 11 STEVE: No, because a little while ago, just before you called, I was looking around carefully and checking and, you know, breathing rate and all the rest and everything is the same. 12 13 HENRY: Um-hum. STEVE: And, you know, she was probably 14 going to take some signs, too, again, but I guess he 15 was resting so well they decided just to leave him be 16 for a little bit. 17 HENRY: Okay. Now, what are your thoughts? Is, is everything -18 19 STEVE: Well, we're kind of waiting to, you know, to be able to talk again. 20 HENRY: Okay. 21 STEVE: Yeah. 22 23 24 25 And I thought maybe by now but, you know, not just yet, I guess. 30 1 HENRY: Okay. 2 STEVE: But he usually wakes up every now HENRY: Okay. And what we're probably going 7 to do is, you know, we -- after we take him out of 8 there, then what we're going to probably need to do is 9 I'll probably need for you to organize the men and 10 11 then we'll take the men. out periodically and then we'll take the women and children or, or whatever. 12 You know, we'll send one guy Okay? But I want you to be the last person because I want everybody to, to feel 13 secure and I think that they'll probably feel secure 14 once he's gone, you know, if you're there. 15 STEVE: Yeah. 16 HENRY: The stabilizing force. STEVE: Well, how do you mean? I mean, I guess I'm not quite getting the picture. Well, we're going to need 7 somebody to carry him out, you know, and then we'll 8 probably put him in some kind of a, some kind of a 9 ambulance type vehicle. 10 11 STEVE: Um-hum. HENRY: Okay? to a hospital. 12 Okay. And he'll probably be moved So we're going to need for you to line up the people that are, that are going to 13 require medical attention, you know, and probably a 14 lot of the guys -- a lot of the men are going to, are 15 going to be in that kind of a position. 16 for you to line them up according to who's hurt the 17 18 So we'll need most or whatever. STEVE: Well, that makes sense. HENRY: So I don't know how many men, you 19 know, are going to need assistance. 20 we're going to have to carry anybody out or not, but 21 if that's the case, I want you to line them up next so 22 that we can make arrangements to get them to -- into - 23 24 25 I don't know if 34 1 -you know, into a hospital or, or to at least get some 2 kind of medical attention as soon as is possible. 3 STEVE: Right. 4 HENRY: Okay. 5 And then, and then after we get all the men out of there, then we'll, then we'll go to the women because probably the women and 6 children are the ones that are, that are probably in 7 the best physical condition. 8 come out last. 9 10 11 STEVE: Okay. It's a funny 13 night because, you know, I mean, I would have thought 14 I would have, but I've been having a hard time falling 15 asleep, kind of starting -- I start to fall asleep 16 and, and I guess it was -- you know, it's been a lot 17 18 of expectation. HENRY: Um-hum. STEVE: And, like I was telling you before, 19 you know, waiting is not always the easiest thing, but 20 -- and, you know, I'm always waiting to see, you know, 21 where he might be, you know, physically in the rest 22 and waiting for a word or two, so -- 23 24 25 35 1 HENRY: Okay. 2 STEVE: Yeah. 3 HENRY: Okay. 4 STEVE: Okay. HENRY: What I would like for you to do as - 5 Well, listen. -if you have some, some paper and pencil, I want you 6 to start, you know, preparing some kind of a, you 7 know, some kind of a report for me later. 8 want you to do is I want you to give me a survey of, 9 of the kind of injuries that some of the people, 10 11 And what I especially the men, have and what you -- you know, if you think we're going to need some more stretchers and I want you to tell me how many we're going to need in 12 that kind of a situation so we have enough. 13 STEVE: What time do you have there, Henry? 14 HENRY: Pardon me? 15 STEVE: What time do you have there? 16 HENRY: It's a little after 3:00. 17 I probably won't call you back until around 5:00 or something. 18 STEVE: Okay.
