2D ( 2 Dimensional ) Shapes
Polygon - Is a multi sided shape with all straight sides. Regular polygons have sides the same length and angles the same size.
Examples of these are
An equilateral triangle
Square
Pentagon
vertex
3 sides
4 sides
5 sides
6 sides
7 sides
8 sides
Hexagon
Heptagon
Octagon
A vertex is another word for a corner or intersection where 2 lines meet. Two or more
corners are called vertices. A triangle has 3 vertices.

Line of Symmetry - When a line is drawn down the middle of the shape each half is identical in
shape and size. The shape is symmetrical.

Net - A flat outline of the 3D shape. When the outline is cut out and folded the 3D
shape is made.
