Your visit to Tendercare
Important Safety Notice
We are a working nursery and our mature plants require heavy machinery for handling which will be in
operation Monday to Friday. Our machine operators are all licenced drivers for the machine they are
driving but please take extra care to look each way at all junctions on the nursery and before moving onto a
roadway from a pathway.
We aim to make visiting our nursery a really enjoyable time for you. We have invested in golf buggies to
assist when conditions are wet and our offices include a comfortable coffee shop with free WI FI.
An appointment is not necessary but may help you get the best from your visit, as it allows a horticultural
advisor to prepare some suggestions before you arrive. Whether you have booked an appointment or not,
always call in at reception upon arrival, to collect a map and price list.
When selecting specimen plants you may individually tag the plants you wish to order, or for larger
quantities of smaller stock you may prefer to simply make a note of the code and entrust selection to one of
our quality supervisors. All Tendercare's plants have a unique batch code to ensure accurate tracking of
plants from selection to delivery.
It is important to note that, due to the size of our plants, Tendercare operates on an order-and-delivery or
order-and-collection system only. Collection of larger material requiring machine handling is available
Monday to Friday only.
Delivery Service
We offer delivery which may be free, dependant on order size and area. Details of charges are available
from our Sales Team. All deliveries are accompanied by a delivery note.
Larger orders, which fill a lorry, will be delivered on the day of your choice. To keep the delivery charges
reasonable, smaller orders are grouped with other orders and delivered when we are in that area. If a
specific date is required an additional charge may be requested.
For groupage deliveries, we do our best to meet specific requirements but generally the drop order is
indicated by the combination of orders and efficient routing of the lorry. An estimated time slot for delivery
can be given on the day of delivery by calling the dispatch office on 01895 837126
The purchaser needs to have a person available to check the delivery with our driver, sign and accept the
delivery. Deliveries are made on the public highway. Where the driver is requested to come off the public
highway in order to get closer to the desired point of delivery, the customer will be asked to sign a
disclaimer in favour of Tendercare. The driver's decision as to the feasibility of the request is final.
We check stock quality both at the tagging and picking stage but should you be unhappy with stock sent,
please leave it on the lorry and a full refund will be provided. If the stock does get unloaded and you are
unhappy with it, defects must be reported within 3 days of delivery and prior to planting.

All plants up to a pot size of 50L will be offloaded by our driver using a tail lift and can be wheeled onto
a flat surface on your property that's nearest to the road. Plants between 85L and 230L will be offloaded
by the driver and an assistant. For pots sizes over 285L and above, specialist handling is required and a
charge is made if we are to provide this service. We then take full responsibility for off-loading the
larger plants. This will involve a fork-lift off-load service for pots over 285L. Your needs will be
discussed at the time of order.
Order Collections
We ask for 24 hours notice for collections to allow us to prepare your order for you. If you wish to
collect on the same day as ordering then you will be asked to tag the plants which you would like, place
an order and we will then pick your order with the correct machinery for the size of stock selected. You
will be directed to the appropriate loading area for the size of stock selected.
Order Cancellations
Once tagged, if an order is cancelled within 7 days by the buyer, we reserve the right to charge 10% of
the order or value of goods being cancelled, to cover the time we need to de-tag the stock and cover
costs expended to date. After 7 days, orders can only be cancelled by agreement with us and will incur
a minimum cancellation charge of 30% of the order value.
Supply Warranty
We guarantee that the stock supplied will be structurally sound, have a healthy root system
Planting and Warranty
We offer a complete planting service to designers. We have particular expertise in the art of plant
positioning of specimens on site in line with your design intention. Our experience in the installation of

the matter to Angela Halksworth Director [email protected] 01895 837138 who will deal with
the matter to ensure a quick and fair resolution. If you would like to make any recommendation as to
how we can improve or to recognise outstanding service from our staff we would also be glad to hear
from you.
