Weekly Newsletter from Mrs O`Neill

Issue 7 Summer Term - 9th June 2017
A massive thank you to Mr Whistlecroft, one of our parents, who undertook the carpet cleaning of the entire school
during the course of the half-term break; such an enormous job! The whole building is looking so much cleaner.
Happy staff news! Mrs Emmel has been appointed to one of our temporary SNA posts, so she will be with us for the
rest of this academic year.
Thanks to Mr Sainudeen who co-led Monday’s assembly with Mrs O’Neill all about Ramadan. He explained why he
fasts and showed the children some beautiful Qu’rans.
Yesterday, Reception had their Magic Lantern Workshop in class—great fun and learning. Thank you to NADFAS for
funding this art appreciation session.
Today’s assembly was all about the election, unsurprisingly. The children learned about this democratic process and
listened to some campaign speeches from Alice Moodie and Zak Tinkler. Well done to both of them, (see photo
above).
Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a free tri-golf session today so watch out for requests for golf club membership!
Welcome back from France Year 6. Massive thanks to Mr Tuckett, Mrs Highton, Mrs Robinson, Mrs Rapley and Mrs
Atkinson for going too. Tired, but happy, the children behaved impeccably. You should be very proud, parents.
Mrs O’Neill will be holding an extra reading session at playtime for those children in Years 2-6 who ‘forget’ to get their
reading record signed regularly! Come on parents—daily reading at home is essential.
There will be a House Litter Pick next Tuesday. Please send a carrier bag in with your child for them to fill and win
points.
Beginning next week in Headlines, I will be publishing, on a weekly basis, the number of requests we have received
for medical appointments and holidays. There are 365 days in a year of which only 190 are school days so please do
try to make regular medical appointments for check-ups in the school holidays or outside of the school day.
If teacher-led clubs are cancelled, we will let you know. Please do not assume clubs are cancelled unless we inform
you otherwise. Thank you.
Yr 4 Swimming Badges

achievements. Orders and payment should be returned to
the school office.
Are you a Commissioner of Oaths?
The school has a requirement for a number of
documents to be declared in front of a
Commissioner of Oaths or a Solicitor empowered
to administer oaths.
If you are able to assist in this matter, please
contact us via [email protected]
We are
still accepting
