Scholarship Essays:
Franklin High School Scholarship
Write an essay of not less than 300 nor more than 500 words in which you address the
following areas:
 Your educational plans
 Your career objectives
 Your personal goals
 Your philosophy about the importance of an education
 Your plans for financing your education
You do not have to address these areas in any particular order; it will be your
responsibility to write an organized essay which will be evaluated for its content and
its grammatical correctness of form.

“What This Scholarship Will Mean to Me”

In 1000 words or less:
“Tell us what you feel you will offer the community in which you will be living
following college graduation.”
Tyler M. Varvel:
A 500 word essay entitled:
“ If today was your last day on this earth, how would you like to be remembered
after you are gone, and why? Who and/or what influenced what you choose to say?”

In 500 words or less, tell us “What do you hope to accomplish in your lifetime? How
will this scholarship contribute to your goals?”
Wheelock Community Scholarship
In 500 words or less, on the topic “Why I would like to be awarded the Wheelock
Community Center Scholarship”.
Reynolds Elementary Faculty Scholarship
In 500 words or less include the following essay: “What are some important lessons
learned in elementary school that have positively influenced your life?”
Scott Burgess Memorial Scholarship
Write an essay that is 1000 words or less in length that addresses the following:
“Discuss the role of patriotism in America today and why it is important to you.
Discuss the importance of the American soldier and what their service means to you.”
Greater Texas Foundation: John Q. & Opal O’Neal Memorial Scholarship
A 500-1000 word essay addressing : “How you, as one individual, can become aware
of physical and social environments and how you would attempt to improve them.”
Leslie Sanders Memorial Scholarship
A 500 word essay:
“What This Scholarship Will Mean to Me”
Chris Jones Memorial Scholarship
Please write two or three sentences stating why you need this scholarship.
Capitol Farm Credit Scholarship – this one has already been sent out
A 100-200 word essay on one of the following topics:
a. Why did you choose the Major/Trade you did?
b. What do you think are the most significant challenges facing agriculture
and rural America?
The Harold H. Luster, II Memorial Scholarship-this one has already been sent out
500 word essay entitled: “How did I become interested in this field of study? Why
will this scholarship help you in your career goals?”
Southside Baptist Church Scholarship
Use about 300 words to tell us some of what you hope to accomplish in life and how
this scholarship will help you.
