As the company that introduced lightweight raincovers to the
industry 30 years ago, COVERMASTER® has manufactured
and sold more raincovers than any other company. Through
this experience in manufacturing and extensive feedback
from our clients, which includes Major League Teams to
the Little Leagues, we have continuously redesigned and
developed cutting edge materials. Unlike others, we do not
sell raincovers made from industrial grade fabrics. Due to
the size and unique requirements of infield raincovers, we
have sought out and tested superior strength polyethylene
cover, where we have been able to reduce the weight of the
cover to save hundreds of pounds in weight for the grounds
crews, while still achieving superior strength characteristics
and greater durability. Made from high quality resin, our preelongated core tapes provide superior stability and increased
strength and durability, as they will not stretch when pulling
the raincover. Rather than adding extra inexpensive low density polyethylene coating, we maintain a lighter weight
raincover by investing in heavier high density
polyethylene black core tapes, which are highly UV
stabilized and provide 100% sunblock. This higher denier core ensures full tape coverage for higher fabric stability
and lighter weight covers with superior strength, performance
and durability.
Our experience has also taught us that a simple web handle,
whether straight, twisted or plastic enclosed, sewn into a
multi-ply reinforced hem, will not stand up to the rigors of
handling a large infield raincover, especially in windy conditions with rain water on the cover. By thorough research and
testing, COVERMASTER® has designed the only athletic field raincover specific handle on the market.
It has a heavy duty vinyl reinforcing patch, with an integrated
strap handle (see page 7), which is designed to spread the
pull force over a greater area than a simple web handle ever
could. It is also the perfect location for our heavy duty brass
grommets, as there is more fabric for the grommet to bite into
and hold. In fact, since introducing this handle, it has had a
success rate of over 99% of staying attached to the
raincover.

fabric, but only COVERMASTER® manufactures and sells a

These 2-piece protective covers provide a complete moisture management system that is designed to fit your regulation field dimensions,

One day’s worth of batting practice and infield fungos likely puts more stress on the infield turf and clay in front of home plate
than a week’s worth of games. It’s important to adequately protect the turf in this area to reduce maintenance costs. This is
