ZYLAM L IQUID – S AMPLE USE GUIDE (4 FL.OZ.)
Zylam® Liquid Systemic Insecticide can be applied as a soil drench, bark band
or a foliar application for damaging tree and shrub insects. Due to it being highly
systemic, all application methods provide for rapid translocation throughout the tree.
Follow these quick & easy guidelines for the use of this sample: The sample
of Zylam Liquid provided to you is a 4 ounce sample. Since Zylam Liquid can be applied
by multiple application methods, this sample will allow you to treat:
S oil Drench (Drench or Injection)
SHRUBS:
Labeled Rate:
0.2 fl. oz. to 0.4 fl. oz. per foot of height (2 to 4fl. oz per 10 feet of height)
The 4 ounce sample will allow for the treatment of one 10 ft. high shrub at
the high rate of 0.4 fl. oz. per ft. of height, or one 20 ft. high shrub at the
low rate of 0.2 fl. oz. per ft. of height.*
TREES:
Labeled Rate:
SMALL TREES (less than 24 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH) 0.2 fl. oz.
to 0.8 fl. oz. per inch DBH.*
LARGE TREES (24 inches or greater DBH) 0.4 fl. oz. to 0.8 fl. oz. per inch DBH.
The 4 ounce sample will allow for the treatment of one 10-inch DBH tree at the
mid-rate of 0.4 fl. oz. per inch DBH, or one 20 inch DBH tree at the low rate of
0.2 fl. oz. per inch DBH.*

TREES:
Labeled Rate:
16 fl. oz. of product plus 1.0 fl. oz. organosilicone surfactant. Add to 1.0 gallon of
water. This volume of dilute solution will treat 36-40 inches of diameter at breast
height (DBH).
The 4 ounce sample will allow for the treatment of 9 inches of diameter (DBH).
Add 0.25 fl. oz. organosilicone surfactant plus a minimum of 32 fl. oz. water for
optimal absorption.*

TREES&
SHRUBS:
Labeled Rate:
8 fl. oz. to 16 fl. oz. per 100 gallons. Apply with sufficient water to ensure thorough
coverage of target area. 100 gallons of spray mix will treat 20,000 sq. ft. of area.
The 4 ounce sample will allow for the treatment of 10,000 sq. ft.
of area in 50 gallons of water at the 8 fl. oz. rate per 100 gallons.*
