DAY 1 HOME - SALT LAKE CITY – MONTPELIER - ALPINE, WYOMING We begin our adventure
by flying to Salt Lake City, where we’ll make a lunch stop (on your own), before continuing through Logan,
Utah, Montpelier, Idaho and on into Alpine, Wyoming for our first night’s lodging.
DAY 2
ALPINE – JACKSON - JACKSON LAKE LOOP – GRAND TETONS – JACKSON,
WYOMING Today we experience a truly beautiful day of scenery as we travel just a short distance through
Jackson, Wyoming (overnight here, too), the magnificent Grand Tetons, Jackson Lake Lodge and Visitor
Center and much more. We can even walk to the town square this evening from our hotel for the “Shootout!”
DAY 3
JACKSON – YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK - OLD FAITHFUL – WEST YELLOWSTONE, MONTANA A BIG day of sightseeing is planned in this spectacular Park (the world’s first National
Park, established in 1872), highlighted by Old Faithful & Geyser Basin. Lodging: West Yellowstone.
DAY 4
WEST YELLOWSTONE – CODY, WYOMING We’re back in the Park this morning where
additional highlights will include Yellowstone Grand Canyon (the waterfalls are spectacular). Our luncheon stop
(on your own) will be at Canyon Village. Lodging this evening will be in CODY, WYOMING, where you will
have the opportunity to visit (additional nominal charge) the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Lodging: Cody.
DAY 5
CODY -- BIG HORN MOUNTAINS -- SHERIDAN -- CUSTER Today we experience more of
the Wild West atmosphere as we continue to travel through Buffalo Bill Country. Our travels today take us to
within 75 miles of the exact point where General Custer was defeated by Crazy Horse (just north of Sheridan).
Spend the next two nights is picturesque CUSTER, SO. DAKOTA. Optional: Crazy Horse Laser Light Show.
DAY 6
CUSTER - MT. RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL - CUSTER, SO. DAKOTA LOAD
YOUR CAMERAS! Our full day of South Dakota’s Black Hills will include a visit to Mt. Rushmore National
Memorial, located in Custer National Park, to view the colossal sculptured heads of Presidents Washington,
Lincoln, Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt. We have a local step-on guide for extensive touring to include
Custer State Park, too! Surprise: Monument-at-Night Lighting Ceremony included this evening!!!
DAY 7 CUSTER -- CASPER – ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING A full day of travel is planned for today as
we head southwest through Casper (where between 1889 and 1915 their “Oil Well Rush” was equivalent to
California’s “Gold Rush” of the mid 1800s), past RAWLINS and into ROCK SPRINGS, WY for the night.
DAY 8 ROCK SPRINGS -- SALT LAKE CITY -- HOME This is a short day of bus travel because we fly
home this afternoon. Our travels take us through the Rocky Mountains and back into Salt Lake City, Utah (Bee
House & Mormon Temple visits). Then it’s time to say “good-bye” to another beautiful and exciting tour -- this
time of fabulous YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK & MT. RUSHMORE MEMORIAL -- viewing some of
this country’s most historic sites and spectacular scenery. WELCOME HOME, EVERYONE!
