During Lent, Pastor Kevin has encouraged everyone to carry a stone in their pocket or purse as a reminder of our need for repentance and the gracious provision of a Savior who forgives. Extra stones are available at the sanctuary entrance. Please bring your stone with you to worship on Easter morning. Please join us for fellowship in the Gathering Place after the service. FAITHWALK: 10:50-11:45am with classes for all ages. • Children age 3 through 5th grade participate in Children & Worship beginning during the worship service until 11:45am in the Children & Worship room. • Middle & High School Youth meet in the Youth Room. • The “Bridging the Gap” class meets in the Cornerstone Room with Scott VanTamelen as the leader. They are studying the book “Chazown” by Craig Groeschel. FaithWalk attendance: 15. FaithWalk offering: $24.00 (Total offering to date: $269.30. This will provide 7 & 2/3 Wildlife Storytellers. (Goal for this FaithWalk season is 23 Storytellers.) THIS EVENING: Sr. High Youth Group meets 6:00-7:30pm. MONDAY: Worship Design Team @ 7:00pm. • Open Basketball at 7:00pm in the ARC. WEDNESDAY: Serving Together [a program of 70x7]. • COMMUNITY NIGHT CELEBRATION: We are going offsite for a celebration at the end of Community Night. Wednesday evening, March 22, 5:30 to 7:30pm, we will meet at BAM on 16th Street for bowling and fellowship. The suggested donation will be $5.00 for each adult and $2.00 for each child. Small children who will not be bowling are free. Any donations will be accepted for those who want to come and hang out, but not planning on bowling. *** Please, no outside food should be brought in. • Last Community Night supper there were 124 people in attendance with $176.20 in donations. • Choir rehearsal in the Sanctuary at 6:15pm. • Praise Team rehearsal at 7:30pm. in the Sanctuary. He was discharged on Thursday and expected to head back to Michigan this weekend. “We are most grateful for all the prayers, texts, emails, and phone calls from our Central Park Church family. We feel so blessed to have all of you in our lives.” Dave & Jean Osterhaven • Ted Fik continues to recover at home following knee replacement surgery. His address is 1005 W. 32nd St. 49423. • Marv Koeman has met with additional doctors and learned the scope of his bone cancer. He will not be having any additional testing or treatments at this time, but is receiving injections to deal with the pain & discomfort. She passed away Tuesday, March 14. Thank you for lifting up this family in prayer. May God provide His comfort and peace in this time of sorrow & loss. Volunteer Opportunities Here are a few areas where CPC needs help. Would you give it a try? Vacation Bible School VBS 2017 – “Son World Theme Park” will be held June 1922 in cooperation with Park Church. Begin to think now about what you might like to do. Volunteers are needed to work with kids as well as behind the scenes. Hospitality Team Our Hospitality team would like to add one more church member to assist in our planning. We meet 3–4 times per year for planning and then assist at special events. Please see one of the following people if you have interest in joining the team; Jeff Bosma, Marla & Jim Zeedyk, Ellen Hossink, Carol VanBruggen or James Stam. Prayer Chain Coordinator The prayer chain coordinator receives prayer requests by phone or email and puts them out on the email prayer chain. The church office will take care of Prayer Chains during office hours, the Prayer Chain Coordinator will take care of nights and weekends. This is a task that can be done at your computer in your home. Talk to Lonna Bruischart or Pastor Kevin with questions or to volunteer. Anniversary Planning Team Last call for volunteers before planning meetings begin in early April. This fall begins the 100th anniversary of our church’s move to Central Park. We will be planning a series of events that mark the occasion and remind our community that we love being here. Would you be willing to help plan those events? We have several volunteers, but would welcome more. See Pastor Kevin to join the team.
