March Means Wool Flooring at Chelsea!
This month will see twenty-two leading industry carpet brands gather to promote natural wool carpets in central London.
Chelsea Football Club at Stamford Bridge is the venue and it will be transformed into a World of Wool for two days
(23rd and 24th March). Entry is free and the venue is well located for the highlights of London as it is minutes away from the
local tube station but parking is also available on site for those that want to drive (car parking charges apply).
So let’s take a look at what is happening there...
Great Product from Quality Manufacturers
Product from the top names in the industry at their own individual
stands is obviously the real pull for visitors. “We think that visitors to
this event will find their time well-spent.The quality of exhibitors is very
high and we have a really good mix,” said Bridgette Kelly of the CfW.
Become an Accredited Wool Specialist
The Campaign for Wool want to promote customer service skills that
hinge on product knowledge and so have introduced a ‘Wool Specialist’
accreditation course. The good retailer that really knows about wool
carpet can become part of this major initiative and reap the benefits
of this exciting programme.
Join WoolRetailer.com
WoolRetailer.com will focus on and support retailers and flooring
consumers in one online place and will be launched at the event. This
website will be promoted across consumer websites and publications
and qualified wool retailers will have certificates and badges for
in-store use. “We are very keen to talk to retailers about getting
involved and they can sign up for this at the London event by calling at
the WoolRetailer.com stand,” Bridgette Kelly explained.
British Wool
Key funder of the WFSL event, British Wool , will support the industry
with a hub dedicated to the unique British story. “Our wool is grown
in the UK on over 45,000 sheep farms. It is very strong and brilliant
for carpets. Our team have a lot of knowledge to pass on and we can
answer any questions that visitors have,” Tim Booth of the British
Wool Marketing Board said.
Awards Bring Wool Talent to the Judging Table
Entries have rushed in for The Wool Carpet and Rug Awards 2016
and the standard is very high, according to Bridgette Kelly of The
Campaign for Wool.
“We are thrilled with the response! It is fantastic to see the carpet
and rug industry embrace this competition. And it is looking like it is
going to be a tough decision for our judging panel,” Bridgette added.
The Awards will be held during Wool Floor Show London with winners
announced there at a special Awards evening. Some categories are
sponsored, there is an Award from - Homes & Gardens, Country
Homes & Interiors and Homes & Antiques and there is a special British
Wool Award too.
Gain Real Added Value to Your Visit - Training and Seminars
WFSL welcomes Social Media Training Solutions to the event, a company that has worked with a long list of renowned organisations including many
national retail chains. The focus will be on giving retailers a background on where they should concentrate their efforts and why. The opportunity
to talk one-to-one with one of the team throughout the day on the Thursday gives visitors first class advice specifically about the business they operate.
Jessica Light has worked with leading brands - Dulux being one of them and offers a trend forecasting which directly impacts on the colours that we
see in interior design and textiles. Jessica will be creating our trend forecast installation and will be doing some talks at the event. Having spoken at
the London Design Festival 2015, Jessica will shine a light on the way trends impact on the retail flooring business and what trends are heading our
way and why.
