Readme_BELMANIPextract_CYCLOPES-V3.1 Ref Issue 1 Rev. 0 Page 3 Date 15/11/2006 Database structure The Belmanip database encompasses 398 sites over the 1997-2003 period. Only 323 sites have been extracted in this version. A yearly tar archive contains at the first level the 323 sites indicated by a directory named as the reference site number. Each directory (ie a Belmanip site) contains 36 tar files describing the CYCLOPES L3A (ie normalized spectral reflectance and directional parameters) or L3B (ie biophysical parameters) extracted information over an area of 51 x 51 km² (ie 51 x 51 pixels) centred on the site coordinates. Name of the products Field Signification Value 1 Project Acronym CYCL 2 Type of product 3 Spatial Resolution Refl for L3A products (directional parameters, normalized reflectance) BIO for LAI, fAPAR, fCover 1km 4 Product Version V3.1 for version 3, release 1 5 Sensor used VGT 7 Date of the product Center of the temporal window (in julian day) at a 10 days frequency 8 Belmanip site number Between 1 and 398 Location information The file Extracted_BELMANIP_sites_I1.00.xls gives, for each site, the site name, the geographical coordinates, the land cover type, the CYCLOPES tile where the site is located, and the ground network which instruments the site. It may be downloaded on the POSTEL website (http://postel.mediasfrance.org/en/download/documents). The main geographical features are summarized below Field Description projection plate-carrée, WGS 84 (TR=Terrestrial Radius= 6378km) pixels geographical coordinates middle of the pixel. It means for example that if you wish the real longitude of the upper left corner, it corresponds to the pixel longitude – angular resolution /2. © MEDIAS-France 2006 This document is the property of the CYCLOPES consortium, no part of it shall be reproduced or transmitted without the express prior written authorisation of MEDIAS-France.
