YOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1~FRIDAY~APRIL 6
SAN FRANCISCO /EN ROUTE
Your journey begins as you board your overnight flight to Santiago. (Meals Aloft)
DAY 2~SATURDAY~APRIL 7
SANTIAGO
Upon arrival in Santiago this morning, you will be met and escorted to your centrally located hotel. Santiago is a fascinating
city an architectural collage of old Spanish colonial charm and European elegance. It has charm and vitality in abundance,
and its teeming life lingers on until all hours of the day and night.
Your adventure begins by touring the main avenues
in the city’s civic center. Highlights include La
Moneda Palace, which was completed in 1805 (after
more than 20 years of off-and-on construction). The
neoclassical building was the home of Chilean
presidents until 1958, and today is the seat of the
government. Continue exploring narrow streets,
eventually arriving at the Plaza de Armas, a
picturesque square surrounded by the 18th-century
Cathedral Metropolitana, the National Historical
Museum, and the central post office. Leaving
downtown, head toward Parque Forestal, this leads
to the Fine Arts Museum, and Bellavista, the
bohemian center of Santiago.
Your welcome dinner will be at Barrica 94, a
restaurant and a prominent wine bar that has more than 300 wine labels. It is located in the heart of Patio Bellavista in
Santiago. This place has Chilean avant-garde cuisine and a modern design, attractive and above all, cozy. Barrica 94 exploits
that ancestral union between the meats and the suitable wines. Its excellent selection of wines, by glass or bottle, are served
with a series of cheese boards, deli meats and an extensive variety of
classics such as oysters, parmesan clams or Chilean empanadas that
provide an excellent culinary experience. A paradise for gourmets who
love meat and good drinking.
Your home for the next four nights will be at the Magnolia Hotel, one of
the most elegant in Santiago. Hotel Magnolia is located in the heart of
Santiago, between the historic downtown and many of the city's star
attractions; the Gothic-inspired Cerro Santa Lucia park whose peak
affords panoramic urban and Andes views; and the Lastarria and Bellas
Artes neighborhoods that beckon with superior dining and bars, art
galleries and museums, independent clothing and design shops. The 42room hotel following a meticulous two-year total renovation of a 1929
mansion is the first of its kind in the city's "El Centro" neighborhood: a
seamless fusion of the city's past and its future, offering historic beauty
together with luxurious accommodations.

DAY 3~SUNDAY~APRIL 8
SANTIAGO /VINA DEL MAR/ VALPARAISO
Spend today visiting the coast of Chile,
beginning with the fraternal twin cities of
Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. Neighbors sharing
a common coastline, these two cities are far from
similar in their urban character and ambience.
Valparaiso was one of the first cities founded by
the Spanish; its port has thrived for centuries.
Spread along spectacularly steep hills, the city
has stairways and streets winding up towards
splendid aging buildings. Access is aided by a
series of funiculars. The British built many of the
finest of these hillside structures in the 19 th
century at a time when Valparaiso was virtually
run from London. However, down below, the
scene is more chaotic and full of noise. This city
has seen its share of earthquakes, tidal waves and political uprisings.
Vina del Mar, on the other hand, is a town of steel, glass and
neon. It exists for the summer months where thousands of
Chileans ascending for relaxation in its elegant hotels, casino
and exquisite restaurants. Sitting on a hill overlooking the
city is the Cerro Castillo palace, the summer home of Chile’s
presidents.
At the Casablanca Valley, a winemaking area with fruit tree
plantations, vineyards and small fruit markets, enjoy a
sampling of wine from the Matetic vineyard. Winemaking in
Chile began with the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadors.
Missionaries introduced grapevines to Chile during the
middle of the 16th century to supply wine for religious
ceremonies. The history of Chilean wine making is as diverse
as its offerings, with its popularity thwarted by jealous
Europeans, it all but diminished during the Second World
War. After the return of democracy to Chile in 1990, the
Chilean wine industry slowly but steadily recovered. Between
1990 and 1993, 25,000 acres have been planted to premium
wine grape varieties. Major investments have been made in
modern winemaking technologies and the focus has changed
from quantity for the domestic market to quality for export
markets. It is the visitor that reaps these benefits as you will
have a chance to tour the winery and taste its wares as you
learn about the winemaking process.
Your first visit will be at Emiliana Winery, located in Chile´s
main wine valleys, Emiliana is characterized by producing only
organic and biodynamic wines, so that helps to preserve the
natural life balance, human beings and the environment. This
results in healthier, unique and better quality wines. You will
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change.
enjoy a tour to the winery with a paring of wines and Organic Chocolate. Designed to satisfy the pleasures of the spirit,
the wine and chocolate tasting stands out for its uniqueness.
Return to your hotel in Santiago where the rest of the evening is at leisure. You will have dinner at Quitral Restaurant, a
sophisticated place in which the elegance and gourmet food get together.
Overnight at THE MAGNOLIA HOTEL. (B,L,D)
DAY 4~MONDAY~APRIL 9
SANTIAGO~TOUR AND TASTING AT UNDURRAGA WINERY & TARAPACA WINERY
This morning enjoy a scenic 30-minute journey into
the lush countryside of the Maipo Valley. Arrive at the
Undurraga Winery and absorb the dramatic backdrop
of the Andes foothills before beginning your enriching
tour. Don Francisco Undurraga was one of the
pioneers of wine making in Chile, and created the
Viña Undurraga in 1885. With plants brought back
from France and Germany, and under the supervision
of the well-known M. Pressac, a French viticulture, he
developed the first vineyards in Santa Ana, Valley de
Maipo. Today, with more than 125 years of tradition,
Undurraga is present in more than 70 countries with
their Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot,
Pinot Noir, Riesling, Gewürstraminer, Carménère, and
Chardonnay.
Continue to Viña Tarapacá, established in 1874, in the
foothills of the Cordillera de los Andes, creating wines reflecting a century-long tradition and contemporary elegance.
Located in Maipo Valley, it benefits from a unique ecosystem allowing them to produce Premium Wines. Their wines are
faithfully representative of New World wineries, providing excellent quality and consistence in each bottle produced.
Tarapaca produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carménère, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay
among others.

time to relax before your dinner.

Mision not only is it an excellent wine bar with more than
421 wine labels from all the producing countries of
America - like Mexico, United States, Uruguay, Peru,

DAY 5~TUESDAY~APRIL 10
SANTIAGO~ CONCHA Y TORO WINERY &SANTA RITA VINEYARD
Today indulge your senses with a tour that combines vineyards, wine tasting and gourmet food with local Chilean culture
and history. The Maipo Valley is the oldest wine-producing valley in Chile, and it lies just south of Santiago, extending from
the foot of the Andes to the middle of the
Central Valley. This valley produces bold
Cabernet Sauvignons that have garnered
international recognition. Chile’s largest
and more traditional wineries can be found
here, but the region is also home to upand-coming boutique wineries, many of
which are owned by Chileans who have
partnered with French, U.S. and Italian
winemakers.
Spend the day at Concha y Toro winery, in
the Pirque area. You will walk through the
winery’s ancient park; whose
extraordinary beauty and harmony are an
invaluable legacy of Chile’s landscaping
history. Admire the Casona’s exterior, previously
the summer residence of the Concha y Toro
family. Enjoy a glass of “Terrunyo” Sauvignon
Blanc at El Marqués park. The terrace will afford
both a privileged view of our “Antiguas Terrazas
de Pirque” vineyard and the opportunity to taste a
“Casillero del Diablo” Carmenère. Among the
Winery’s main attractions are its ancient cellars,
and particularly “Casillero del Diablo” (Devil’s
Cellar), where you will learn about the famous
legend that has made Chilean wine known
worldwide. Once inside the winery, you will
discover the character of traditional Chilean grape
varieties of “Marqués de Casa Concha” Merlot.
Continue to Santa Rita (Alto Jahuel area), a
traditional winery located in the Maipo Valley.
The cellar of this winery, has been declared a
National Monument, and combines the use of the

traditional Amer ican and French oak wood barrels, with modern systems, that combined give a unique taste to their wines.
Here you will experience the process of the wine making, from the vines to the Italian bottling lines and labeling. This
winery is an example of colonial style architecture and beautiful French style gardens.
Viña Santa Rita was founded by Domingo Fernández Concha in
1880 who was a prominent business man and public figure at
the time. He introduced very fine, French grapes in the
privileged grounds of Río Maipo, and employed wine
specialists from France. With this resource, he was able to
produce wines with techniques that led to much higher quality
than what everyone in Chile was used to. Since the end of the
last century and until 1970, the vineyard was developed under
the García Huidobro family and the property was managed by
Don Vicente García Huidobro (Domingo Fernández
Concha´son in law). In 1980, the Claro group and the Owens
Illinois company, who was the main producer of glass
packaging, bought the Viña Santa Rita. Santa Rita produces
Carmenere, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon
Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Merlot.
You will have a guided tour through the vineyards, starting at the
winery and finishing at the wine bottling process. Visit the historic
Bodega 1 made of “cal y canto” and the famous “Bodega de los 120
patriotas”, nowadays, a national treasure. The tour finishes with an
amazing wine tasting moment of our Aged Wines.
Tonight, dinner is at Aqui Esta Coco, a seafood restaurant that has a
successful career of over 30 years under the direction of famed chef
Jorge "Coco" Pacheco.
Overnight at THE MAGNOLIA HOTEL. (B,L,D)

DAY 12~TUESDAY~APRIL 17
MENDOZA/LUJAN DE CUYO~WINERIES
Today it’s all about Luján de Cuyo, a small town on the
outskirts of the city of Mendoza, near the Andes
Mountains. It’s known for its wine production, in
particular for the Malbec grape variety. As in the arts and
music, in the viticulture there are also Wines of worship.
They are those made by winemakers or producers always
on the margins of trends and fashions, whose wines are
highly valued by lovers of this drink.
What is the best way into the world of Argentinian wine
than a tour of four Wines of Cult? Soak up the delightful
surroundings and enjoy the wine tasting today, as your
private chauffeur will take care of the driving. Sit back,
enjoy the scenery and let us show you this unspoiled part of Argentina on a luxury wine tour.
BRESSIA - LUJAN DE CUYO - Agrelo
At the beginning of 2003, Walter Bressia together with his wife and
children, started a family business under the concept of "Family
Wines", this being the result of a long experience and trajectory as a
winemaker in the national and international market. It is a small
project whose main objective is the personalized and limited sale of
wine and staples of the highest quality.
In Bressia Bressia use the minimalist concept for the elaboration of
all their wines, considered this the minimum human intervention
supported by a suitable technology. They have a capacity of French
and American oak barrels that allow them to design wines with a
very careful and balanced style in their concentration in wood. The
aging in barrels is performed in an underground cava located at 19.6
feet deep that houses 340 barrels. Each bottle is unique and therefore you can enjoy the pleasure offered by the exclusivity and
particularity of each harvest.
DOMAINE ST. DIEGO- LUJAN DE CUYO - Lunlunta Valley
Ángel Mendoza holds a bachelor's degree in oenology, external consultant to several wineries and served as Master Winemaker at
Trapiche Winery for a quarter of a century. Since 1988 he has been running his family wine business: DOMAINE ST. DIEGO, a
winery used to produce wines of worship. The domain is located in a privileged terroir of the district of Lunlunta, in the department of
Maipú of the province of Mendoza, land of wines with more than 300 years of Christian history.
In Mendoza, you can still find tender, loving characters
related to the world of wine. One of those survivors is Don
Angel Mendoza, owner of his small winery and vineyard,
located in Lunlunta and named Domaine St. Diego.
CASA DEL ENEMIGO – LUNCH
The leading winemaker Alejandro Vigil launched "Casa El
Enemigo", his own restaurant in his house. The place,
which includes vineyards and a winery, is open for visits,
tastings, lunches and dinners. Tourists are going to try
their award-winning creations and take photos in a place
that is already cult. The project, located in its very home of
Chachingo, department of Maipú, one of the first places where it was cultivated in Argentina and in Mendoza.
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change.
BODEGA CARMELO PATTI- LUJAN DE CUYO - Mayor
Drumnond
The wines of Carmelo Patti are wines of worship, with fans in
Argentina and overseas. Just like art cinema, its wines are: "I do not
want to do it commercial" says this winemaker who only has one
employee. "I never picked up the phone to sell a bottle," he adds. Their
wines are essentially Argentine: in them there is nothing more than the
taste and the personal experience of a Mendoza winemaker with 34
vintages to his credit
(*) The order holds and schedules listed in the program are subject to change depending on availability or confirmation of the winery.

(OTHER DEPARTURE CITIES AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST)
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change.
CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL:
REGISTRATION
HOW TO BOOK: Fill out the reservation form below and send it to: Aggie Adventures, Cal Aggie Alumni Association, University of
California, Davis One Shields Avenue, Davis, CA 95616-8517, together with a deposit of $750 per person for the main program and
$250 per person for the extension, as well as your insurance payment if you wish to take advantage of the pre-existing medical
condition exclusion. On receipt of your signed reservation form and deposit, we will, subject to availability, reserve your place on your
trip. When we send off your confirmation invoice, your booking is confirmed and accepted by us.
PAYMENTS
DEPOSIT: A deposit of $750 per person for the main trip and $250 for the extension must be submitted at the time of booking. Deposits
may be paid by check or charged to American Express, MasterCard, Visa or Discover.
FINAL PAYMENT: Final payment is due 95 days (January 1, 2018) before departure – you will receive a final invoice. Final payment is
payable by check or money order ONLY.
RATES: Rates are based on the minimum number of guests outlined in this document, plus airfare costs, currency exchange rates and
other factors and are subject to change. Though it is rare for Classic Escapes to make a price adjustment after promotion of an itinerary, we
do reserve the right to assess a surcharge if the minimum is not met, or if increases are forced upon us by airlines or other partners or
because of changes in currency exchange rates.
NOT INCLUDED: Cost of passport and visa fees, and service charges for obtaining visa fees; excess baggage charges levied by airlines;
laundry and other items of a personal nature; optional travel insurance policy; cost for anything not specifically included in listing above.
SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: The quoted rate is valid for the first two single rooms booked and on a first-come, first-served basis. If more than
two single rooms are needed, an additional supplement may apply. Single accommodations are not guaranteed, but will be provided at
additional cost if available (see reservation form for cost.) The single room supplement pays for privacy, not better accommodations. For
passengers who are traveling alone and wish to share a room with another tour member, we will do our best to provide a roommate.
However, if this is not possible, you will be required to pay the single room supplement prior to your departure from the USA.
GRATUITIES AND TAXES: Gratuities for baggage handling, service charges and taxes imposed by hotels, and entrance fees to all points
of interest as outlined in the itinerary are included. U.S. and foreign airport taxes are included in air costs. Tips to drivers and naturalist are
NOT included.
CANCELLATIONS, DEVIATIONS & CHANGES
TRAVEL INSURANCE: We recommend travel insurance. Travel insurance can provide financial reimbursement should the unexpected
occur.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations are only effective on receipt of written notification. The following per person fees are
applicable on this tour:

Up to January 1, 2018, less $300 handling fee.

January 2 to January 21, 2018 days prior to departure, deposit is forfeited.

January 22 to January 31, 2018 days prior to departure, less 50% of tour cost.

After January 31, 2018, no refund is possible.
These cancellation fees are also in addition to any fees imposed by airlines.
CHANGE FEES: Once you reserve your tour, changes are possible at a fee of $150 per person subject to availability of air or land space at
the time of request. Should there be any change fees imposed by airlines or ground operators, or additional costs incurred due to
availability of any space, this cost will be invoiced to you.
SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS: We would be happy to make additional travel plans for you, including specially arranged pre- or post-tour
extensions different than those that may be offered in conjunction with this tour. A service charge of $150 per person (over and above the
cost of the services required) will be assessed.
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change.
DOCUMENTS
PASSPORT & VISAS: The onus is upon the guest to ensure that passports and visas are valid for the countries visited and for the
applicable time period, as outlined by the U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov) or by the passport holder’s country. Classic Escapes,
their staff and their agents cannot be held liable for any visas, etc. not held by the guests, nor for the cost of obtaining visas.
PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION: Upon receipt of your registration and deposit, we will send a pre-departure packet to you. This
packet contains all the information you need to prepare for your tour, including the complete itinerary, packing checklist, required
documents, insurance information, etc.
FINAL DOCUMENTS: Final documents and tickets will be sent to you approximately two weeks prior to departure, provided all monies
have been paid in full.
TRANSPORTATION
OPTIONAL AIR TRANSPORTATION: Roundtrip, economy-class flights via AMERICAN AIRLINES, and/or other IATAN carriers are
between SAN FRANCISCO and SANTIAGO noted in the itinerary. Rates are based on special promotional fares; cancellation fees apply
once tickets are issued. Departures from other cities in the USA are possible at additional cost; inquire at the time of reservation. Please
note that these promotional fares are subject to 10 passengers traveling together on the same airline routing and itinerary. If this
minimum is not met, the special group rates are not applicable and it might become necessary to issue instant purchase tickets earlier
than when final payment is due in order to take advantage of airfares that are similar to the group rates. Should this occur, you will be
contacted with the details.
AIRLINE SEATING: For AMERICAN AIRLINES, we request seats together for the group. All planes are non-smoking. We can request a
seating preference on your behalf, however requested seats cannot be guaranteed. Requests should be made in writing no later than 60 days
prior to departure. Bulkhead and/or emergency row seats can only be requested at airport check-in on the day of departure. Boarding
passes will only be issued at the airport on the day of departure. You may inquire about seat changes during check in, based on availability
and is at the sole discretion of airport staff.
FREQUENT FLYER MILEAGE: This program is based on travel with AMERICAN AIRLINES. For a list of the airline’s partners, visit
https://www.aa.com/aadvantagehttps://www.aa.com/aadvantage. You may obtain frequent flyer mileage on any of these carriers. Present
your frequent flyer card for all flight check-ins and keep the boarding passes until you receive a statement with the mileage credit
TRANSFERS: Roundtrip airport transfers are included in the tour for guests arriving on group flights. If travelers make their own air
arrangements, they will be subject to extra transfer fees.
DEPARTURE TAXES: Please note the amount of departure tax reflected in the airfare is subject to change, at the discretion of
governments and airlines, and with no advance notice. Should this occur, you will be invoiced prior to departure for any additional taxes
imposed.
TRIP DETAILS
ACCOMMODATIONS: You will marvel at the wonderful accommodations provided throughout your tour. All rooms have private
bathroom facilities and air conditioning and/or fans. All rates are based on double occupancy. Most rooms are twin-bedded, but king-size
beds are occasionally available and should be requested in advance. Accommodations listed in this itinerary are correct at time of writing,
but on rare occasions may be substituted for a different property of comparable quality.
MEALS: All meals as specified in the itinerary. Please notify us if you have special dietary needs or requests, and we will do our best to
accommodate.
INOCULATIONS: When it comes to vaccination and disease prevention, we suggest that travelers first review information provided by
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov/travel) and then review those details with their personal physicians.
WATER: It is always advisable to drink bottled and/or filtered water when traveling overseas. Safe drinking water will be provided to
travelers free of charge in the vehicles and during meals.
BAGGAGE: On average, international flights from the USA allow one piece of checked luggage, each not exceeding 50 pounds; however
we always recommend that you check your airline’s policy just before departure, as luggage limitations are always subject to change.
Despite this weight allowance, we always suggest guests travel light. Also, soft-sided duffel bags are ideal for this tour, as they stow best in
vehicles and airplanes with limited space.
Schedules, accommodations and prices are accurate at the time of writing. They are subject to change.
