An Inspector Calls – The Playhouse London
The English Department is delighted to offer all Year 11 students the opportunity to visit The
Playhouse Theatre in London to watch An Inspector Calls on Tuesday 14 February 2017. All Year 11
students study this as part of their GSCE course and are expected to answer questions regarding the
play during their English Literature exam next summer. Attending a professional performance will, of
course, bring alive the text which will help to form a visual impact and support their written work. As
we have only a limited number of tickets on offer they will be allocated on a “first come first served”
basis.
Our group will travel to and from London by coach, leaving Midhurst Rother College at 4.45pm and
we will return at 11pm. As we are travelling outside of College hours we ask that arrangements are
made to drop off and collect your child. Students are encouraged to have eaten before boarding the
coach.
The cost of this trip will be £33 which includes theatre admission, insurance and travel by coach. This
contribution is voluntary as the College could not bear any of the cost of the visit without reducing
our ability to provide the resources that are essential for curricular needs. The visit will not take
place unless all parents, who are able, are willing to contribute. If you are unable to contribute you
are invited to contact me in confidence so that suitable arrangements can be made to cover the cost
of your son/daughter’s participation.
