CPUs are typically just under counter near the monitor. There are four computers.
If time permits, also power on Manager and ILL workstations.
• Log in the computers
-

to Chat login screen. The public lookup/print station can be left logged in with browser open
to library home page.
OPEN THE KEYCASE AND UNLOCK CABINETS
• Grab the key case key (if you haven’t already done so)
It’s hanging on the wall-mounted coat rack just through the door leading back to Jesse and
Connie’s office area.
• Unlock the two laptop and one media equipment cabinet
The #1 key will allow you to unlock the two cabinets that contain laptops and accessories. Don’t
forget to return the #1 key back to the key case.
• Unlock the cash drawer
The #35 key will allow you to unlock the cash drawer and other drawers under the desk just to
the right of the reference iMac. Don’t forget to return the #35 key to the key case.

Don’t leave key case key in the key case. Instead, leave key case unlocked and return it to the
wall-mounted coat rack just inside door leading back to Jesse and Connie’s office area.
#3
MAKE SURE THAT PRINT RELEASE STATION LOGGED IN
Occasionally the print release station gets logged out overnight. This presents a problem for
students wanting to print immediately upon opening – take a second to check to ensure that
this is logged in. If needed, the login information for the release station is lib_release /
dante123
#4
CHECK FOR EVENT SIGNS
Check folder located on top of laptop cabinet for signage that needs to be put up related to any
events happening in the library today. Coordinate with the opening student manager to have
these signs put up.

CHECK LOWER LEVEL COMPUTER LAB (during academic year only)
Go downstairs and make sure lower level lab is unlocked and lights turned on.

UNLOCK FRONT DOORS BY 8:00 AM
Use your exterior master key to lock the crash bar to the “pushed in” position on both sets of
doors (interior two and exterior two).

own account user their Macalester credentials; in other words, if you need to log into
WMS before students arrive, use your own log in.
Logging into CHAT – generic credentials to log into chat are Macalesterref / desk1
Logging into Manager / ILL workstations – typically this task would be
handled by student managers, however if you need to login to these workstations the
