Dear Parent and Carers
‘Meet the New Headteacher’ Parent Meeting
I am delighted to be able to write my first letter as the new Headteacher of The James Oglethorpe Primary
School. All the staff and children have made me feel very welcome and I feel privileged to be joining your
school community. Being a mother of two girls, I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I
have in ensuring that the highest standard of teaching and learning is evident in all areas.
My priority as Headteacher this term is to get to know the pupils, staff and school community but also begin
to build an excellent team to work alongside me. This is to ensure we are able to meet the needs of all our
pupils. I know how vital working in partnerships with parents really is, in order for children to find school a
positive and rewarding experience. I strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand to ensure
each child’s excellent progress.
Therefore I would like to invite you to a ‘Meet the New Headteacher Meeting’ in order for me to gain a wider
knowledge of the parent community and for you to be able to learn a little about myself. The two meetings

will be held on Friday 21 April 2017 at 9am and 2:30pm. The meetings will be held in the infant hall and will
last approximately half an hour. The format of the meeting will be informal and younger siblings are
welcome.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything I can do to help and support you
with your child’s learning and school life. If you are unable to attend the meeting on Friday then I do hope to
make your acquaintance in the near future. However if are able to attend then please complete the reply slip
below so that we are aware of numbers attending and are able to make necessary arrangements.
Finally I would like to thank you personally for your continued commitment and support towards the staff and
pupils of this school and I look forward to meeting you on Friday and working with you in the future.
