Collecting payments
Please write below the amount of child support or domestic maintenance you want us to collect. You can give dates that you
want us to collect payments from, or you can tell us a specific amount to collect. For example:
• collect only $3,000 of the debt, or
• collect everything owed between 1 January and 30 June last year.
Write here which payments you want collected
Notes
•
If you were receiving a sole parent rate of benefit from Work and Income, you cannot ask us to stop collecting child support
for those periods. You can however, still ask us not to collect payments of domestic maintenance or court-ordered lump sums
of child support.
•
You can ask us not to collect all or part of the money owing. You cannot uplift any penalties owed by the liable parent/person
as these are owed to the government.
•
If you do not want us to collect any future payments of child support or domestic maintenance, you must also cancel your
future entitlement using the Cancelling your child support (IR 107) or Cancelling domestic maintenance (IR 112) form. This
does not prevent you from applying for child support again in the future.
•
Once you have asked us not to collect payments for a particular period, you cannot at a later date ask us to collect them.
However, it is still possible for you to collect the payments owing by applying through the District Court.
Declaration
I understand the option I have chosen in Question 7 and that any payments I don’t want collected cannot be collected by Inland
Revenue at a later date.
