FEATURED ALTO ADIGE WHITE
Manincor, "La Manina", 2015 - $62
Meaning, "Hand on Heart", Manincor is a 400 yearold estate recognized for producing elegant wines
from the foothills of the Dolomites. Driving through
the valley, one would never know a state-of-the-art
winery exists underground. A signature cuvee, "La
Manina", takes Pinot Bianco and blends it with small
quantities of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay to
give it notes of fresh wild flowers, white peaches and
apricots while maintaining crisp minerality.

FEATURED LIGURIAN WHITE
Portofino, Bisson, "ü Pastine", 2015 - $62
The term "ü Pastine" is from the local dialect
indicating a very special product, appropriate for the
Bianchetta variety, a rare white grape found only in
Liguria. Winemaker Pierluigi has saved several parcels
from extinction and from which he creates a truly
unique white wine that is delicate, lively and satisfying,
filled with vibrant minerality. With the vineyards close
enough to see the sea, expect hints of seaspray to be
an identifiable aroma.

FEATURED CAMPANIA WHITE
Campi Flegrei, Cantine Farro, 2015 - $45
Michele Farro's wine philosophy is based on tradition
and simplicity. Falanghina grown on this very special
soil on the edge of the many small, dormant and
now wood and vine-covered volcanoes in the Campi
Flegrei area displays freshness, and tropical fruit
notes. His family has been making wines there for
more than 80 years bottling native varieties which he
views as part of his family's precious heritage.

FEATURED SAUVIGNON BLANC
Soliste, "Lune et Soleil", Lake County, 2014 - $69
Of the fruit-driven wines of Lake County, some of the
country's finest Sauvignon is crafted by Burgundy
native Claude Koeberle. Lifted by the laurels of his
late friend Didier Dagueneau, Koeberle stylizes his
wine to pay homage to the intense and terroir-driven
whites of the Loire Valley. Taking its passion one
step further, the winery dispersed a tractor-trailer
worth of broken oyster shells in its vineyards for a
dose of extra maritime minerality.

FEATURED BARBARESCO
Albino Rocca, "Montersino", 2013 - $97
Albino’s fascination with flying small aircraft over his
vineyards led to his untimely death in 2012, but his 3
grown daughters have continued to lead the family's
4th generation estate winemaking consistent with
his visions. Everything about the Montersino cru is
ideal: higher than average elevation, perfect southern
exposure, vines nearly 20 years old... except there is
only 1 acre planted for the whole world to share! This
approachable vintage offers red cherry, ripe plum,
anise, forest floor, and dried flowers with a strong
structure and savory finish.

FEATURED BAROLO
G.D. Vajra, "Albe", 2012 -$116
In Barolo the sun stays a little bit longer in the sky,
hovering all day, keeping the grapes and their leaves
at full attention. Its path from East to West seems
to just take longer, an expression known regionally
as "Albe", where the wine takes its name. It is the
magic of Barolo, the unexplainable, that transforms
the thinned skinned Nebbiolo into a complex,
tannic, food driven wine that has no rival in terms of
originality.

FEATURED GAJA HALF BOTTLE
Barbaresco, Gaja, 2010 (375mL) - $289
Angelo Gaja is the man credited for bringing the
small commune of Barbaresco out of obscurity.
His influence has changed the way the world views
Italian wine to this day. A master of Nebbiolo--the
austere, tannic grape once considered only quaffable
after decades of bottle age, Angelo saw its potential
as a world class wine. Despite pushback from his
peers, he employed new (and what most considered
outlandish) practices both in the vineyard and the
winery to promote freshness and elegance in his
wine. The story of Gaja is a truly fascinating one,
but is best told through a glass of his stunning
Barbaresco...(hint, hint)

Lauded as one of the greatest vintages in Italian
history, this 1997 is still singing in the glass. Silky
on the palate with delicate and developed aromatics

FEATURED BRUNELLO DI
MONTALCINO
Col d'Orcia, 2011 - $112
Brunello di Montalcino has risen to be the premier
interpretation of Tuscan Sangiovese. Full in body,
this wine expresses all of the traditional flavors one
expects from the varietal such as pure cherry fruit,
chocolate notes, and a dark earthiness. The resulting
wine is a more pronounced, luxurious bottling that
only the town of Montalcino can provide.

FEATURED SUPER TUSCAN
Toscana, Tenuta San Guido, "Guidalberto", 2014 - $124
1968 was the inaugural vintage of the original "Super
Tuscan" wine: "Sassicaia", an homage to the rocky
place where Cabernet Sauvignon vines were first
planted in Bolgheri. This premium wine, made with
grapes foreign to Tuscany, could only be labeled as
"Vino di Tavola" (table wine) until their popularity
inspired a revolution of the modern Italian wine-making
laws near the turn of the 21st century. The estates'
modern "Guidalberto" bottling embodies the same
progressive, quality-minded philosophy of it's Big
Brother, and is sourced from the same vineyards. This
classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese
and Merlot is as big and beautiful as the name "Super
Tuscan" inspires.

FEATURED AMARONE DELLA
VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO
La Giaretta, "i Quadretti", 2009 - $156
From the heart of the Valpolicella region between
Lake Garda and the Alps, "i Quadretti", is a onehectre, single vineyard, studded with 100 year old
vines. The use of new French Durmast barrels gives
an already rich and opulent wine, layes of spice,
mocha and dark chocolate. In order to achieve
the concentration of flavors, grapes are harvested
late in October and dried for roughly 120 days
for concentration flavor and sugar content. The
resulting wine is full of dried cherries, ripe red fruits
finishing dry and velvety.

MONTEPULCIANO D'ABRUZZO
Emidio Pepe, 2003 - $179
The wines from this man are like cat-nip for
sommeliers world-wide. They boast every nerdy
buzz-word imaginable: Biodynamic. Hand
harvested. Hand destemmed. Foot trodden. Natural
fermentation. Unfined. Unfiltered. No sulfur...
After extensive bottle aging in the cellar, bottles are
personally decanted and recorked to order by his
wife, Rosa. Production today has fallen to Chiara
Pepe, the 5th generation, and the grandkids carry
this torch with pride. Decant, meditate, marvel, love.

FEATURED ZINFANDEL
Bedrock, "Old Vine", Sonoma County, 2014 - $64
A relative newcomer with a remarkably fast
ascension into the spotlight, the Bedrock Wine
Company was founded in 2007 with a mission to
restore and preserve old vineyards around California.
Many of these vines, averaging 80 years old, were
the original sites planted by California's viticultural
pioneers, and today offers a depth of history to be
enjoyed in the glass. The 2014 “Old Vines” is packed
with ripe wild berries, a freshness of Mediterranean
herbs, and a spicy finish wrapped in a soft, satiny
mouthfeel. As founder and winemaker Morgan
Twain-Peterson proclaims: this is “the gateway drug
to Bedrock.” Not to be an enabler, but we dare you
to get as hooked as we are!

FEATURED INTERNATIONAL RED
Robert Foley, Charbono, Napa Valley, 2013 - $98
In 1968, all it took was one sip of Charbono for
Robert Foley to ignite his career in winemaking
world, working for esteemed wineries such as Pride
Mountain Vineyards, Hourglass and Switchback
Ridge. Charbono (aka: Bonarda in Argentina)
was an almost extinct grape variety that has been
embraced by winemakers for its rich, voluptuos
expressions in the glass. For lovers of Malbec, this is
a must drink.

FEATURED SAUTERNES
Chateau d'Yquem, 2005 - $236 (375ml)
Which wine brings you the most joy? Not the wine
that is most popular, complex or even the most
profound- but the one that makes your palate truly
happy? What else could you say but Sauternes.
Nowhere else in the world can compete with these
Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon-based stickies. Yes, its
sweet but just as complex with layers of exotic fruit
and honey that would make any foie gras blush!
